This book is not mine, please move it (part 9)
Hi, I'm a librarian myself, but have just encountered this situation for the first time. I read the librarian manual on authors and author profiles, but when I tried to edit one of the author's pages (the non-Goodreads author) to add an extra space to the name, the page reloaded to the other author's page and said "sorry, this author is a Goodreads author" and that I couldn't edit it. What is the correct way to perform these fixes? Thanks!
Librarians cannot merge GR author profiles. If adding extra space takes you to a GR author, and you are sure that the author profile you are working on is not a GR author, then move it to the next empty profile, by adding another space.
Without providing links to the profiles it is hard to say what is relevant in this case.When books on the non-GR author profile are by the GR author, you can correct the author by editing the books and adding the space in the author field for all editions of the book.
Author profiles should only be merged when all books on the two profiles are by the same author.
GR Support can merge author profiles when one of them is a GR author.

Yes, thank you, that's what I was trying to do. I guess I did it wrong. It was the case of the author in #615.

Unfortunately, my prerelease is now linked on Goodreads with another Quinn Wilde who published a book in 2010 under that name. This is not me.

I've had this problem several times. It would be nice if all three of my books (TRAPPED, The Race, and Summer with a Bite) could all be listed under my verified profile and not a placeholder profile.
