T.K. Arispe (tkarispe) So I'm doing a guest author event in April to coincide with (hopefully) the release of the Thunder Girl audiobook, and I've been asked by the host to provide an example or two of books or authors in a similar vein as the novel, as in "If you love [book] or [author], you'll enjoy Thunder Girl!"

Problem is, I'm having a terrible time thinking of any. So I thought maybe I could pick your fiction-loving brains! Can you think of any books or authors that deal with Victorian steampunk fantasy/supernatural, and that have an upbeat, middle-grade/YA tone?

K Ascalon | 9 comments The “Amulet” T-GN series, possibly? I wouldn’t call it upbeat, but it’s the right age range and has the steampunk and supernatural like elements you mentioned. You can probably get one at your local library to check for yourself. It’s by Kibuishi.
