Just finished this. Yet again we have a flawed detective, i would prefer that authors just made their detectives grumpy for no reason, but saying that, The story flowed well, although I did struggle with the pronunciation of some of the Welsh names.

Lies People Tell This book started very slowly for me and I had a challenging time getting involved with the characters in the first half of the book. Transitions seemed rough in scene changes. Though the author's writing style is readable, I didn't engage with the story until the book's second half, perhaps because much of the slang was less familiar to me than in most British-set books. For these reasons, I'm giving the book 3 1/3 stars.
