anyone else working on this one?

If I remember my thoughts correctly (unfortunately, I didn't write a review for this one!), while I liked all the characters, I thought the way they were written was almost "cutesy," but that's not quite the right word. Did you get that feeling at all?

I have just joined this group, and am actually intending to read The Priest Fainted with y'all... but I noticed this discussion, and by a happy accident I am currently about half-way through K & C. I think the portrayal of the characters so far reads a bit like a comic book itself. One of the things I like is that the dialogue is like the jargon and vernacular of late 30's New York. I can picture all the characters of the story easily fitting into running panels of comic book art.
