Lance discovers evidence that something awful seems to have happened to Brian Springer after searching his home. However, Sheriff Colgate doesn’t believe it’s connected to Paul’s murder. What say you?

At this point I lost any faith I had in Sheriff Colgate. How could he not think the torture of Paul Knox's partner wasn't part of this case?

Yeah, this is about the time I formed the opinion of him being lazy, stubborn and stupid. He was worthless and Lance was on his own.

Colgate ignored every piece of evidence that did not fit his theory. Typical of someone with one foot out the door toward retirement.

It was clear from the moment he first showed up that he didn’t want the job. That’s why it made no sense that he wouldn’t let Lance & Morgan do the heavy lifting.

I agree. I just hope the author doesn't write in a third inept sheriff where Lance and Morgan have to do the heavy lifting.
