Review: Mallory’s life was a mess. But I liked her. And I liked seeing her grow a spine with her jerk of a soon to be ex and her parents. And her guy, Nick, was swoon worthy. I laughed, got angry, cheered, and sighed a lot. So I enjoyed myself. 🙂

Review: I just love NR Walker's work. She has some of the most down-to-earth, likable characters. Being overweight myself I related to Henry's internal dialogue and insecurities SO MUCH. There isn't a lot of over-the-top drama but Walker always packs a lot of heart and story into short, easy-to-read packages.

I really enjoyed Emila and Drake's Story, great chemistry, psychotic twin with the fate of the pack depending on which twin found their soul mate first. Intrigue, drama, adventure and a very strong love. I definitely recommend.

Review: I usually really enjoy Sheridan’s books. This one was a mixed bag. Callen, a rich successful musician, wasn’t my favorite type of hero. He was pretty jaded, bored and sulking. Fortunately, he did get better after awhile. The book is MPG New Adult. And the book did feel younger than other books by Sheridan. The romance was sweet and sexy and emotional. And I did enjoy the setting in France and the tidbits of French history.

Review:
Jacobs and Beck do not like each other. Well, Jacobs doesn't like Beck for various reasons, and Beck likes annoying Jacobs. So when they are both put up for the vacant captaincy of their college hockey team by their coach, things get heated. And when their teammates devise a challenge to determine the winner, the competition (which has nothing to do with either hockey or leadership qualities) brings out more in both Jacobs and Beck.
I enjoyed this. There was plenty of snark back and forth between Jacobs and Beck, even after they started admitting they might be attracted to one another. In fact, the story was pretty much all snark, which didn't leave a lot of time for relationship building. What there was of the relationship was really good, and they were completely supportive of one another, even before they started admitting to feelings. After the enmity ended, of course.

Review:
Connor is part of the clan Kelly, and is back in New York for one of his brother's wedding. He meets a cute guy in the bar, and since the guy is quite drunk, takes him to his room to let him sleep it off. When they wake up the next morning, they discover that they know each other: Josh is Connor's brother's ex, and a friend of the family.
Connor, who has only been sporadically attracted to men, is determined to woo Josh and get him to agree to dating. Josh is leery, not only because it's his ex's brother, but also because he is pretty much a part of the family, and doesn't want to lose the Kellys if something goes wrong. But then Connor finds out that he has fathered a child, and he asks Josh, who has a degree in early childhood education, to help him.
Josh and Connor were such distinct, and, to a certain degree, unique characters. They complimented each other well, but certainly had different personalities, instead of just kind of melding in to one big TRUE LOVE pairing that basically becomes one person, rather than two people with certain interests in common, but who have differences too. I liked the way Connor and Josh treated each other, and the mother of Connor's child.

No, I haven't read it yet. I started it, but don't really feel in the mood for it right now.

🎁 Review -Omg !!!
This series is absolutely incredible, the author seems to draw you in and the characters seem to have a life of their own! Rikka was visiting her best friends home for spring break when the unthinkable happened. Her Rami,, three men who shift and her fated mates found her with a child and went into a blood rage not understanding the ordeal she and Charley went through. This series is a highly recommend!!!!

Somehow, Some Way, Jennifer Probst – 4/25/21 – ✮✮✮✮✰
Review — Short, but sweet—this is another fun installment in this series. Brady is not my favorite hero, but when he pulls his head out of the sand he gets better. Charlie on the other hand was an amazing character from start to finish. I love her creativity and that she would not compromise herself for the man she loves.

Rescuing Bryn, Susan Stoker – 4/25/21 – ✮✮✮✮✮
Review — Susan Stoker packs such a punch into her stories! In this installment of the Delta Force Heroes series, she tackles two seemingly broken souls who help mend each other. Bryn was such a fun, quirky character. Although it’s not made clear, she appears to be on the autistic spectrum. Regardless, she is extremely honest and straightforward and has such an amazing heart. Fish has been seen a bit in previous books, but it was difficult to like him at first. His brash reaction to Bryn and his horrible behavior made it difficult to feel sympathy for him, despite his disability. However, Ms. Stoker does an amazing job of redeeming him slowly as he discovers Bryn sees Fish, the man, not Fish, the disabled soldier.

Book: Fish Out of Water
Rating (1-5): 4 stars
Review: This wasn't what I expected. It is MUCH more mystery than romance (the mystery was well-done though!). And what romance there WAS, just wasn't "romantic." I was left wondering if these two could really make it in the long run. I guess that's why it's a series and I'm just going to have to keep on reading it to make sure they get their HEA.

The Tourist Attraction
Rating: 4 ⭐️
Review: This was a fun read. Zoey had some VERY over the top, crazy situations happen to her. LOL But I found it entertaining rather than annoying. Probably because I did like Zoey and Graham. They were both quirky in different but endearing ways. The relationship between them developed at a realistic pace (no insta lust/love), which I liked. They were funny and sweet together. I will definitely continue with this series!

How it qualifies: main characters are hockey players, so they travel in the execution of their jobs; plus, per precis, Tate moves from Dallas to Arizona in a hockey trade.
[*bookcover:Sugar and Ice|54427056]

Sugar and Ice
Rating: 2 stars
Review:
Tate is traded to the Arizona Raptors after an increasingly volatile situation and PR nightmare. The things that are said about him aren't true, but Tate doesn't want to hurt someone, even though she has hurt him and his reputation. It takes a little while for his new team to warm up to Tate, especially the captain, Vlad. Vlad needs to be in control at all times, and he's worried that there could be implications because he is nominally in charge of Tate as the captain of the team, as well as coming across as too clingy, which other lovers have accused him of.
I started reading this, and I was getting really angry at Tate's ex for how she was treating Tate, and how he was being portrayed in the media (and especially social media). So I was really involved in the characters, because I had to remind myself that the ex wasn't a real person. Then I put the book down for a few days, and when I came back, it seemed as though it was a different book. Everything happened so fast, I just couldn't believe the relationship between Tate and Vlad. And there were all these extraneous problems thrown in, and then add in the problem with the ex...it all just seemed overly dramatic, and it was not what I was in the mood for.
This is probably more like a 2.5 star read for me, but my disappointment was greater because I was so invested in the earlier part of the book.

Rating: 2.5 ⭐️
Review: This book is categorized as erotic romance and bdsm. So I went into this thinking it would be pretty hot. But this was the tamest erotic romance I have ever read. It also had insta lust and love, which I hate. After knowing Natalie for 12 hours, Flynn gives her a key to his place and invited her to go to the Golden Globes with him. And to meet his family. Way too fast for me! The book was more a fantasy about what it’s like to date a movie star. The bdsm was introduced and mostly happened in Flynn’s dreams. After reading this book, I saw this is book 1 in a trilogy. Not sure I want to continue the Natalie and Flynn story. I may jump ahead to another character’s story to see if I like that better.
