Equestrian sports don't often fit squarely in the outdoor recreation category, but man this book was so good and I thought others would enjoy it as well so I wanted to recommend it.
Kareem Rosser grew up in Philadelphia (in the Bottom) where he and his brothers got connected with a program called Work to Ride and started riding and playing polo. From there he went on to become one of the top ranked American polo players and his story of captaining the first all-black squad to win the National Interscholastic Polo championship is riveting.
You might know him already from a recent Ralph Lauren Polo campaign. (https://www.ralphlauren.com/brands-po...)
I read this book in about a day. I couldn't put it down. I work with a horsey-related organization who is hosting an (online) event with Kareem at the end of March if anyone is interested. Or maybe he would be able to join us here!
Has anyone else had a chance to read it yet? What did you think?!
