Page Number Missing

Hi there!

I started to read M/T et l'histoire des merveilles de la forêt by Kenzaburo Oe (ISBN: 9782070792290) yesterday and I noticed the number of pages was missing when I tried to update my progress. By my estimate this book has 456 pages while the total number of pages currently displaying is 0. Could it be possible to fix this issue?

World Cat (our preferred source for confirming page counts) has this book at 431 pages. Can you tell me what is on page 432 -456 of your copy? Some things we count & some things we don't.

Hi! Thank you for responding! Pages 432-456 correspond to (mostly) blank pages before and after the novel. I included them in the total page number because I was unsure whether they were to be taken into account. Hope that helps!

Geoffrey, when you say mostly blank pages, could you be more specific. As Carol said, we count some things and not others.

Oh all right, sorry about that. Well the number of pages officially starts at page 11 for the novel in the book. Among pages 1 from 10, the first 4 pages are totally blank. Page 5 has the title of the novel as well as the name of the writer and the translators. Page 6 only has the original title and copyrights info. Page 7 contains a biography of the author. Page 8 is blank, page 9 bears the title of the prologue and page 10 is blank too.

The last numbered page is 431 however the novel ends page 432. After that 16 more pages follow in the book. Page 433 contains the title of each chapter. Page 434 is blank. Page 435 lists the other novels by the author and the rest merely list other books edited by the same editor.

Ok, we ignore everything before the book begins, ie blank pages, roman numerals etc, and we go to the last page which is 432, then we add acknowledgments if any and again ignore ads for other books.

So as page 433 lists the chapter titles of this book we'd include it. The rest we'd ignore.

Adding 433 pages. Done.
