I want to read and i darken, but the only thing that's holding me back is that i don't know what the Ottoman representation is like, especially the portrayal of Fatih Sultan Mehmet

ah yeah, i understand. since i am neither muslim nor do i have extensive knowledge about the history and religion of the ottoman empire, i can obviously not tell you anything about that. what i can tell you though, is that the author has added a note in the end saying that she has done research, that she is mixing fiction and reality and also that she wants to "find a middle ground" between overly positive and overly negative narrations of historically important people like the sultan
