Bhavya is sort of back online

I finished the April challenge stuff, and finished 2 books. Now I’m gonna read the betrothed...
I’ll try to finish that today.

Well wow. Maybe try reading the same scenes from different POV’s online.
You’ll find some of you look it up. :)

I wasn't exactly complaining, but thanks!

Oh sorry.

It's fine! I'll try it anyway!

"Jessica?" Isabel calls from the kitchen.
"What?" Jessica replies.
"Open the news, will you?"
Jessica gets up from the table and walks into the living room. She picks up the remote and switches the TV on. The reporters voice drifts towards Ella and she listens.
"Early this morning, the trees in Jim Corbett National Park disappeared. Barren desert sand was found in it's place."
Ella's head shot up and she tumble of the chair in her haste to get to the next room.
Jessica stared open-mouthed at the news footage. It showed yellow sand surrounded by trees. The footage zoomed out and the sand turned into a yellow speck. The reporter appeared again. She started speaking. Ella doesn't listen. Outrageous news reports like this one had been coming in for the past week. At first everybody thought it was a joke. But that was hardly likely. Then more and more witness reported what they saw: lakes disappearing into thin air and tornadoes when they weren't supposed to happen. Experts had declared the the world was crumbling. And there was nothing anyone could do.
Ella walked back to the table and tried to focus on the blog post in front of her. But for the fifth time that week, she's at a loss. How can she focus when the ground below her could crumble any second? Isabel comes out of the kitchen, wiping her hand on a towel. She hovers at the doorway of the living room watching the report. She gasps. Ella couldn't take it any more. She picked up her laptop and took it to her room where she finally find some peace. Without realising, she typed for more than an hour.
"Ella?" Isabel called from the living room.
"Yeah, mom?" she called back, quickly slamming her laptop shut and leaping out of bed.
"In the shower, now!"
Ella sighed. She opened her laptop again and finished writing the last few lines of the poem she was working on. Her blog was one of the most read, even though she was only ten. She looked out of the window across the Singapore skyline. Her gaze drifted to the park below. The overhanging trees covered most of the bushes. She loved the view, but hated going into it. She shook her head. She was getting too distracted. She undressed and let down her short black hair. She put it up in a bun and put on a shower cap. Not long after, she was humming a happy tune while applied soap to her body.
The bathroom door creaked as Ella opened it and stepped out. She quickly dressed and picked up the bracelet she had gotten as her birthday gift. Her entire family had one. Jessica, her younger sister, had received one recently.
These four bracelets have been passed down to the next generation on the ninth birthday. Ella had the message remembered by heart. This message had to be said every time a new family member received it.
*"In die hac venerunt ad fontem off in nonum diem natalem. Dicite fontes istos praeterire de exigere versus et docere."*
Which translated into "Pass this on to your off springs on their ninth birthday. Tell them to pass it on and to teach their off springs these exact lines". It wasn't much, but it was important.
To Ella, the bracelet was more than a piece of jewellery. It was her lucky charm.
She put it on and unlocked her room door. The house seemed unusually quite. Usually, Jessica would be creating a racket in the living room or her mom would be on a call. "Mom?" she called. "Dad? Jess?" No response. She looked all over the house. It was well and truly empty. She peered out of the window. Both her parents' cars were there. They had to be in the park downstairs. It was the last place to look for them. She quickly climbed down the stairs and walked into the lobby. The park was right outside and she pushed open the gate, cringing a little as she did so. Her eyes scanned the park. A young man was shouting into the phone as he rushed by. A women was strolling down a pathway. But Ella's family wasn't there. She instinctively reached down to the bracelet. The jewel seemed a little loose. Ella panicked. If it broke, she'd be in hot water. She brought her wrist up to examine it. The jewel seemed to be pushing down instead of coming out. Ella pressed it.
Ella couldn't believe what she saw next. White light surrounded her. It swirled and turned and twisted, creating beautiful patterns in the air. The white mass was interrupted with coloured streaks as orange, red, green, blue and other colours took it's place. Suddenly, the light melted away and Ella began to fall.

Hi!
Definitely still a rant. :)

Your tense is off here. Stick to one.
In the beginning it’s present, then then it’s switching it to past.
I’d advise you to keep it in past tense.
You can rewrite this as-

Oh, that was bound to happen. I wrote it 1st person POV and then changed it into 3rd person. Thanks!

But there a lot of telling vs showing. Maybe you could try setting the scene up.

I'll do it tomorrow. Right now I could faint with exhaustion.

Ok!
Hope you feel better. :)

Their answer to my question-
“I have a romantic novel that i want to be read & reviewed”
Um... that’s a interesting friend request.

From my part?
I know, but I can’t do anything. It keeps happening so I have to be more strict about it... :(

I suppose.
Once I got a friend request from someone and they seem nice so I accepted. The moment I did that I got a message with all the links to their books and how to buy them.
I got annoyed and unfriended and blocked them.
I mean I know you’re trying to promote your book, but this is the wrong way.
Yeah... I’d say just don’t friend them... I don’t know why you’d ask someone a favor, if you don’t even know them a little..
