Hi guys,

I'm trying to remember an adult novel I read around 2009-2014, but I don't know when it was published.

I thought it had "cat", "black cat" or "lucky cat" in the title but I can't find anything from searching those terms online.

It's about a girl who helps out behind the scenes of a theatre company and eventually goes into theatre scenery production. There's something about a red line in one of the scenes she builds? As a teenager, she sees that a man (possibly a cleaner at the theatre company she helped at?) has stuck photos of her face onto p**dophilic photos and this leads to her believing she was abused. She and her mother are known for being very beautiful but her younger sister isn't, so her mum puts her sister on diets that cause her to fall ill.

I don't remember where it was set but the time period was modern for when it was published I think.

I think it followed her life from a child, through her teenage years, to a young adult

I can't remember anything about the cover I'm afraid.

And no, it wasn't part of a series as far as I'm aware!

The tone was serious and a bit ?whimsical at times. It was all from her point of view and I think she has a mental breakdown in the middle which comes across in how it was written. If that makes sense?
