The Black & Tans was a nickname (derived from the mixture of police and army uniforms they wore) given to recruits, mostly former British soldiers, hastily drafted into the Irish constabulary in the period following the end of world war 1 and the creation of the Irish Free State. Greetings folks.Polling has closed and the votes counted. As the adjudicated official for this election, i therefor declare the winning candidates as thus:
Taking her place as MP for the Conservative Party (whether she wants to or not!) is Jemma. Her classic nomination of Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival, won by a majority of 2 votes, scoring 21 points. Congratulations Jemma..... nice choice. Now....see what you can do to usurp that blonde mop headed waffling numpty in number 10, could you please..and maybe you could become the next PM, who knows? :)
Following close behind Jemma..with 19 points, with Respect Yourself by The Staple Singers, KJS take his place with the opposition & finally Tim regretfully will have to join the Liberal Democrats (what there is of them!), as he isn't Scottish (as far as I'm aware, so SNP is out for you)....but you get to claim the 3rd placing with your nom Ye Jacobites by Eddi Reader, which scored 15 points.
Alas, after some while, I have good cause to go into the back room, get that dusty box off the shelf, give it a good blow off (not like that.....ya mucky minds....), and declare that whilst the song itself was an interesting choice, i suspect the ear splitting version of it put us all off. Thus Anthem Of The Greek Junta by Fotis Dima was loved by none.
Thus Lez....here's your spoon!
