We should come up with an alternate for each of the books that are not translated into English.
I am sure that there is either another important book by the author that is translated or a similar book from that language that could take the place.
Fortunately, only one of the core is not available in English.
Anybody know of a good alternative to The Taebaek Mountains? Perhaps some other significant Korean work?
Steven
You don’t need books to be in English if you use Google Translate. I use my Fire kindle and phone. I have been trying to get the Taebaek Mountains - the French translation directly from the Korean Library but I have to use Google Translate on my phone when I’m on the website on my fire tablet m. I have not been successful with the first book because they didn’t have it stock, but my point is a translation app should work if there is a book in a language you don’t know.
Also, if there is another language you do know, you should look for translations there. Anything that I can't find in English I have an almost 100% chance of locating in Russian because Russia has an excellent translator school.
I think the only book I won’t be able to read is a serious of ten books in Korean. They have been translated Into French but I’m having a hard time getting all ten of the French translations.

I see Dru hasn't responded yet. if you click on her name, it shows her being in Maryland, U.S. And you're apparently in Australia.
The two Ian Sinclair books mentioned and his book Downriver were all in the 1st edition of 1001 Books, but dropped from the next. London Orbital has the highest avg Goodreads rating of those three (3.68). Looks like Mr. Sinclair would be 77 yrs old now.
