WELCOME!! I am a little overly excited to have a member (that's not family and made to join). I just started this group this morning and am learning how to put it together... a work in progress. I would like to have books of the month selections in addition to your own reading and sharing.
I'm half way through Shadow of the Wind. I am enjoying it so far.

Yay! Let me know what you think of it

1984 by George Orwell --I have not read this book yet. I know, shame on me.
Faye, Faraway by Helen Fisher
Before Coffee gets cold: Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
The Future is yours by Dan Frey
I have two recommendations:
The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch-
Recursion by Blake Crouch. --This follows a detective as he deals with the increasing number of False Memory Syndrome cases, where the victims suddenly have memories of a life they've never lived.
Overall that's basically what I want to read before 2021 is up.

I just started getting into Thrillers. I'm not sure if these qualify but on kindle I started Confessions on the 7:45 by Lisa Unger and I picked up paper book Th1rt3en by Steve Cavanagh.

If you are interested in books not commonly known (treasures, as I call them) there is an online bookstore that sells them for 90% off. I featured them under "The Place to Be". It's called Daedalus Books. I have a habit of putting a couple books in my cart and looking at the cost, think oh? that's it?, and then add more. I still come out a winner even 10 books later.

It looks amazing, but unfortunately, doesn't ship to Canada, oh well. :)

Hi Sadie,
I think I was supposed to read 1984 in high school. It's on my reading list for this month. Hope I get to it.

This store...heart breaker. They had a location around the corner where I grew up, then I moved to another state and when I did a return visit they were closing in 2 days.

That is sad. What amazing deals!!!

My second 2021 goal is to finish up series I started throughout the years. If I can't finish them, at least read up until the latest published book.
My third goal is to try and read as many of my own books as I can. I want to make my reading list more books I've owned than borrowed books. My original goal was to read my own books, unhaul and then buy. But that didn't work! lol.
In correlation with my third goal, goal 3.5, I've decided for every review request, book of the month club (from the groups I belong too), ARCs, etc I've read, I will read one Danielle Steel book. I'm so dreadfully behind on her books and need to get caught up so I can give the ones I don't want to my mom.
So yeah, I've got quite a goal list for 2021!

I started off with goals but I am pretty much winging it. I have not read most of what's on my list. I am buying faster than I can read. And I'm not really good at following rules... even my own. But I am doing pretty well with the goodreads goal. I set 24 for the year and I am very close to reaching it already- GO ME!!

How far have you gotten in your goals? They sound like good ones.

I have read 30 out of 40 books. I have finished one series that I've started (Three Dark Crowns series). I have almost caught up on my all my review requests so I started and finished one Danielle Steel book. I just recently started that goal about the Danielle Steel books. About 20 of the 30 books I've read have been books that I own. I've unhauled at least 7 books or so. So overhaul, I'm doing pretty okay. My goal is to have every review request finished this month and have at least 4 Danielle Steel books read. I've got a lot of work to do! lol.

My goal's 12 for this year, and I've been running ahead of the one-per-month idea so far. My biggest struggle -- and the biggest factor in my reading fewer books the last few years -- is getting myself to consistently commit time to a book instead of to whatever nonsense I can get up to instead online. It's quite a challenge to get back the attention span I had as a kid or student when it's so easy to shift between tons of short pieces of content all day long.
I've been enjoying looking for new reads, which book groups have been good for, but am also trying to finally tackle some of the books that have been on my shelves forever. Sustainable reading! ;)
