After sending you upside down and right way up in previous years, this spring it's time to go Inside Out and then back to the Right Way Round. Get ready to join us through the twists and turns in March and April 2021. The challenge begins on 1st March and runs for the calendar months of March and April.

This is an Individual challenge, but you are playing for points against everyone else who signs up. You can, of course, create alliances with other team members to get ideas of what to read for hard to meet tasks, but ultimately the points are your own.

There are different categories depending on your books per month which are explained below. This means that anyone can join and compete against similar levels of readers

IMPORTANT

You will need to be able to access and edit Google Sheets to join this challenge. We will give you a template, but you need to use it to track your books and your points.

We work on an honour system, so we are not asking you to submit your spreadsheets for review, but all sheets need to be accessible for viewing by all players.

ABOUT
Sign up using this form and we will send you a google tracking sheet that you will use to track your challenge. This will feed into a main tracking sheet here that will track the points of all players.
Sign ups close on 10th March 2021.

1. PLAYER CATEGORIES
You will be assigned a category of Centre, Edge, Outside the Box or Infinite depending on the number of books you read per month (see below for breakdown of categories).

2. HOW TO PLAY
You will be given a list of tasks to choose from each month on this spreadsheet that have points allocated to them as 10, 20, 50 or 100. It is up to you which tasks you decide to cover in the month, but there are some caveats:
CENTRE PLAYERS: A minimum of one 20 point and two 10 point tasks must be chosen each month
EDGE PLAYERS: A minimum of two 100 point, two 50 point, one 20 point and two 10 point tasks must be chosen each month
OUTSIDE THE BOX PLAYERS: A minimum of three 100 point, three 50 point, two 20 point and one 10 point tasks must be chosen each month
INFINITE PLAYERS: A minimum of five 100 point, three 50 point, two 20 point and one 10 point tasks must be chosen each month

Each task can only be completed once.

3. POINTS TRACKING
Players are responsible for tracking their own points by using the Google Sheet template provided.
This will feed into the overall tracking spreadsheet here.

4. BOOK REQUIREMENTS
Unless otherwise specified in the task, (some lower point tasks will allow this) the following books can NOT be used:
* Comic / Graphic / Magna
* Cookbooks
* Textbooks
* Travel Guides
* Poetry
* Poems
* Childrens / Middle Grade novels can only be used where you can verify the word count through AR BookFind as 25,001 words or more. If you can't verify it with that site, you can check if audible has the unabridged version as more than 3 hours. If you can't verify either, then you can't use it (unless the specific task says you can)

5. CHANGES TO BOOKS PER MONTH
At the end of the challenge you will only be able to win in the category that your actual reading puts you in. So you need to monitor your books per month during the challenge and alter your own minimum task requirements.
For example,
* Sally signs up as 9 books per month. She is in the CENTRE category. By the middle of March, she has read 6 books. Sally thinks she will read 11 by the end of the month (EDGE category). In order to be eligible to win, Sally needs to make sure she has the minimum requirements for EDGE met (i.e. two 100 point, two 50 point, one 20 point and two 10 point tasks) for March.
If Sally does not meet these requirements, she will not be eligible to win the EDGE category at the end of April.

If Sally reads 11 books in March and 8 in April, she would still be considered in the EDGE category as for one of the months she was eligible for that category.
