Adding some of these to my list, glad to see the recommendations! I'm currently reading Good to Great by Jim Collins. I'd suggest you read other books on your list first, it's not very good!

Kelly Howey | 1 comments If you're looking to shed a few Covid pounds, I highly recommend Delay, Don't Deny: Living an Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle by Gin Stephens. It's a game changer!

Alicia | 1 comments The Guest List by Lucy Foley, looks like I'm one of the few who read fiction LOL

message 7: by Soma (new)

Soma Alicia.- I read a lot of fiction. And I have read the guest list...loved it! Let me know what you are planning to read next.

message 8: by Soma (new)

Soma Kelly - I read that book and have been doing IF since May last year.

Barb Ver sluis | 1 comments I belong to a book club and have many books I can recommend. And I'm looking forward to reading the recommended books from here. One of the best books (fiction) I've ever read is Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom. This tells the story of Frankie Presto through the eyes of "Music." Music actually is a character in the book, Frankie's storyteller, as he's been with Frankie since birth. Frankie is a Spanish war orphan raised by a blind music teacher. At a very early age Frankie is given the gift of music, particularly with his guitar-playing skills. This book is beautifully written as it intertwines music with well-known musicians through the decades (many giving their permission to be part of this fictional story) and intersecting lives of the various characters in the book. I was so moved by this story that I even created a Spotify playlist using all of the songs in the order that were mentioned in the book: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto.

Patrick | 1 comments Currently reading Savage Road: A Thriller and find it just ok thus far, much like the previous book in the series.

For a great thriller I just finished No Exit and for something a little deeper I just finished Reasons to Stay Alive...both of which I loved.

message 11: by Soma (new)

Soma Sounds wonderful Barb! I have added this book to my list.

Haha I think my book list is public so you can see everything I've read, but I read tons of fiction too! I am trying something new where I alternate between a "better-me" book and a fun book; I just happen to be on a "better-me" book right now. I can't keep two books going at once, hence the alternating.

Bedarshi Saha | 3 comments I am reading Yesterday's Ghosts. It's a suspense thriller/ paranormal fiction.

message 15: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1 comments I am about 10 pages away from finishing a book called A History of Scotland, by Neil Oliver. But I’m also reading Blood of Dragons by Robin Hobb, which is a fantasy series I started years ago and am finally getting around to finishing. I am mostly a fiction reader!

message 16: by Libby (new)

Libby | 1 comments I recently finished "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah, it's a series of stories about the comedian's life growing up in South Africa during / after apartheid. It was a great read, definitely recommend!

I'm currently reading "Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle" by Amelia and Emily Nagoski with a group of PMers as a busy season book club. So far so good! Definitely aimed primarily at women, but a lot of good tips to dealing with stress and burnout for anyone!

message 17: by Staci (new)

Staci I read mostly fiction as well. A recent one that stuck with me is The Travelling Cat Chronicles. And you'll definitely cry. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Blake Roe | 1 comments Just finished Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as a CEO of the Walt Disney Co. A lot of good thoughts in there related to leadership, culture, and innovation.

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Schoesler | 1 comments I recently read Before We Were Yours. it is fiction but based on a true story of adoption in the early 1900s. Be prepared to cry! I also read the Hunger Games Trilogy and am now rewatching the movies. As is usually the case for me, I enjoyed the books more.

Danielle Delonge | 2 comments James, I’ve heard of that book.... would be interested in what you think of it when you’re finished.

I’m going to use this month’s Audible credit on Antiracist Baby, a suggestion from our Year of Understanding.

Laurie (lehoose) | 2 comments Just finished Notes from a Young Black Chef. He has a very interesting story/background and the book includes a recipe at the end of each chapter. We made the london broil with cherry salsa and it was delicious! :)

Kyle, I take the same approach of alternating, although I have found I can have two books going at once if I do one in text and one audio.

message 26: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Nelson | 1 comments I recently finished reading a 3-book series by Jack Carr:

The Terminal List
True Believer
Savage Son

He just finished writing a 4th book, which comes out in April. These were great books, kept me on the edge of my seat.

I'm currently reading Aubrey Marcus's book "Own the Day, Own Your Life", which is a great book for goals/wanting to get better.

We just started Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life", which I will comment on later once we get further into it.

message 27: by Claire (new)

Claire Van | 2 comments I just finished The Vanishing Half after seeing so much hype about it last summer, it was excellent! Next up is The Red Lotus from the same author who wrote The Flight Attendant, which I binged the adapted HBO series over Christmas time.

message 28: by Danielle (new)

Danielle Delonge | 2 comments Just finished Circe, by Madeline Miller. Wow. Just, wow!

message 29: by Claire (new)

Claire Van | 2 comments I watched "The One" on Netflix and the pacing was a little weird but it was a really cool concept! I was delighted to find out it was a cult-hit UK book and have started reading it The One - highly recommend it if you like fiction about disruptive/future technology (a la Black Mirror but not so so crazy).
