Yes! It can be so good, but there's only so much you can do with it. It all reads the same, as entertaining it is.

Brooke W (thereadersgame) | 48 comments IMO the only good instalove book is Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. But to be fair- I've only read a few instalove books.

Yeah that troupe only works for me if I'm madly in love with the characters already, but if not then it just feels so rushed and like more depth is missing

yes omg the smut in enemies to lovers is unrivaled (intentional pun lol). friends to lovers is good for when you want to read fluff and pining, enemies to lovers is when you want something spicy

message 27: by Shawna (new)

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 45 comments Are age gaps considered a trope? Cuz if they are, I hate those. Some are fine, but a 17 year old in love with a 20+ year old? gross.

message 28: by Yuna (new)

Yuna Leek I get the age gaps thing but I don't mind them too much if it's like 4 years or so. It matters less when the characters are older I guess. Once I read a book with a potential relationship with a 20-something-year-old and a 40-year-old. I really would have hopped off a hill if they ended up together.

message 29: by Yuna (new)

Yuna Leek I hate the fake dating trope because it feels really unrealistic to me. And more of them just keep on getting written because of how popular some of them are! In theory, it's really cute but I just don't think it makes any sense.

IKR just like let them hash it out, guys in books can be very simple minded so if they get into a fight they will probably best mates afterwards LOL

message 45: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Alvarez | 26 comments I think there aren't any "worst" troupe, but rather bad ejecution, so many people doesn't like "love triangles" but then they're like OMG! I found this book and even tough that has this troupe I love it, and it has happened for me, I don't like a couple of things but sometimes I read books that has that troupe and I love them
