I think Before the Coffee Gets Cold can work for with restaurant or flowers. I am pretty sure in the first chapter they are having a conversation while eating in the cafe but it was a few days ago I picked up the book.
oshizu - I am going to start it today so will let you know how I like it!Thanks Rachel, I feel good about getting started on it. Hope I can finish it quickly!
I am listening to Eat a Peach by David Chang, which is all about his life as a chef, so that definitely fits the food/cooking prompt. Am also reading Bright Swallow: Making choices in Mao’s China which doesn't really fit any of the prompts, but there is a section where she talks about being very short of food, and learning how to cook - at a long stretch I could include it in the 'related to food, cooking' etc prompt. Otherwise will just have to count it for the pages. Will finish that today and then have to decide on a final book - it seems I should find something where someone goes on a date.
I finished Bright Swallow: Making choices in Mao’s China, but as it looks as though we have plenty of options for the last few prompts, I have added it as pages only, and not related to any prompt. I now have most of the weekend to read one more book and finish my audiobook. It's hot and sunny here today and due to be very hot over the next few days (up to 40C) so I have lots of garden protection to organise. Have a great reading weekend team!
I finished reading my 2nd book for the "LGBTQIA+ books featuring a love story" prompt (the book was truly a slogfest). So Team Sunflower has completed all 57 of the initial prompts.
Looking at the # of Options for the 3 new prompts, it seems like y'all have the remaining seven prompts covered. :)
Or should I start a "flower on cover" book tomorrow, just to be on the safe side? If so, I can finish the short Spring Garden tomorrow.
And, wow, 27 unused Wild Cards! So impressive!
Go team!
Yes, we're really rocking this! This morning I just read a silly romance, and of course they went on a date! ;)
ETA actually there are also flowers on the cover. Where to put it? Date for now.
It's hard to know what's needed here closing in on the finish line. Which also means I can't answer your question Oshizu, except maybe we'll see where we're at tomorrow?
Who's reading something that works for the remaining prompts who will definitely finish within the readathon?
We need:
1 book related to restaurants etc.
1 book where character goes on a date
2 books with flowers on the cover (in addition to the one I'm reading)
I have one short flowers on the cover book, that I 'll finish today.
The rest of us can just add on the pages! Happy reading:)
I'm half way through a mystery that just happens to have flowers on the cover which I will definitely finish today.

It'..."
I will definitely finish mine related to restaurants/cooking on Sunday. The other one I am reading involves a romance but am not sure yet whether there is an actual date (they are working in the same environment). Need to keep reading to find out...
I've just added the book I finished this morning with flowers on the cover.I have about 2 hours of an audiobook left where the main characters go on a date, and about 200 pages left of another book with flowers on the cover. I'll finish both today and add them to the spreadsheet if those prompts are still open, otherwise I'll just count the pages and audio hours, unless we are given some new prompts.
I finished The Kurdish Bike last night and found, when I looked closely at the cover this morning, that there were FLOWERS on the cover. Down to 3 prompts to go. I am listening to an audio book that also has flowers on the cover, but it looks like a number of you are closer to finishing something for the flowers cover. My other "to read" book is long and won't help, so I plan to read to add pages to help wrack up wildcards which we don't need. Great job reading Sunflower team!
I finished, and marked as finished in the Plan tab, The Starless Sea, but I didn't actually put it anywhere in the tracker tab as it didn't go with anything we needed. So whoever moves those around knows it wasn't actually used.
I plan to spend the remaining read-a-thon time working on books that I have borrowed from the library and just add to our page count. We really did an amazing job as a team!
I finished my audio with flowers on the cover, so we're down to 1(!) remaining prompt - related to a restaurant that Sue is on (and possibly others). Yay!I'm going to spend the rest of the readathon adding hours and pages and amp up the wildcards. I've returned to reading The Labyrinth of the Spirits that didn't fit anything and is really long, so I doubt I'll finish.
... I mean, we could ask for more prompts, but I personally like the satisfaction of finishing all the prompts without using wildcards, and just reading whatever takes my fancy for the remainder og the readathon. But what do you think?
I just added Before the Coffee Gets Cold to the last spot. It was not just a coffee shop they had food too!oshizu I ended up really liking it!
OH and great job everyone- what a great group of readers!
I agree it would be nice to see a full spreadsheet rather than ask for prompts and not be able to complete them in time. Great work everyone!
Excellent work Team Sunflower!I went to check the spreadsheet just now the check the remaining prompts and we're all done!
What a delight to work with such a great group of team players!
Thank you, all! To our wonderful leader, Johanne: Mange tak!
Now, I can go read Midnight Robber.
Oshizu, selv tak :)We're finished! Congratulations to us!
Let's see how many wildcards we can get, shall we?

Samantha,
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I look forward to reading it even more now!
Hi Fellow Sunflowers! Just dropped in and found we had finished all the prompts. Just fun and an excellent result. Happy reading.
Evening everyone!Bedtime is nearing in my timezone and thus the end of the readathon for me. I'll read some more in bed and then log my final pages.
By now we have 35(!) unused wildcards.
It's been a pleasure reading with you all!
I've never been in a team that so thouroughly slayed the challenge.
Thank you all for a great readathon! Happy reading :)
Thanks for being such a wonderful leader Johanne! I sure enjoyed the experience of my first read-a-thon as part of the group.

I will get started on this and put it where we have the most need once finished.
