Can't find this book or remember the title!!

I am looking for a book that I read but didn't finish and I want to know what happens.

The premises of the book is basically an orphaned slave is taken to a castle to stand in line to be chosen by the Alpha werewolf king whose wife abandoned him in the middle of the night. Now he is looking for a new wife. He finds this young slave girl and she turns out to be his true mate. So he buys her from her owner and she becomes queen.

Things start off rocky but eventually, they start falling for each other, have sex, yada yada. When she turns out not to be pregnant with his child yet, he starts becoming distant with her. He starts avoiding her and he starts getting sick and the whole castle thinks that she is poisoning him with wolfsbane.

She notices that the ex-queen hanging around the castle and finally confronts her. The ex-queen tells her that she ran because the king was going to kill her because she could not get pregnant with his heir. SO the young slave/mate starts getting scared and eventually with the help of the ex-wife runs away.

The king eventually goes after her and brings her back. He is furious that she ran away and locks her in the dungeon. when he brings her to the throne room for her trial, it is revealed that the ex-wife just wanted the mate out of the way so she could weaken him to kill him. The ex-wife wanted to kill him because she hated werewolves.

Just as she was about to stab him in the back the mate got in the way, saved him, and was stabbed in her back. and that's all I got too. I didn't finish reading.
