The Minimalist TBR-Busting Lazy Reader’s Challenge

So... the other day I watched a movie called "There's No Business Like Show Business" and in it, Marilyn Monroe sings a song called “Lazy” that had this line:
“With a great big valise full
of books to read where it's peaceful,
while I'm
killing time
being laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy."

I've often seen challenges where you have to read a separate book for each task. But what about a "minimalist" (read LAZY) challenge where the participant gets each book to fit as many tasks as possible? If one book fits 20 tasks, then bravo! The catch of course is this challenge will have a LOT of tasks, so you'd still get to knock out a chunk of TBR. But the idea would be to see how FEW books you could read to finish the challenge at whatever level you decided to participate.

For each category of tasks, you’ll have the opportunity to list a subtotal for that category, as well -- so, for example, if you were working on the category of “The Book Itself” and in the subcategory of “Author’s First Name Contains the Letter #” and it took you only six books to use up the entire alphabet, your subtotal for that subcategory would be six.
So you’ll have benchmarks along the way to the big challenge.

To help you along, some of the troublesome letters are removed. Nothing is more disheartening than to read a book you aren’t especially interested in in order to find a word beginning with X…. and this is supposed to be fun.

I’m also trying to avoid putting in tasks that few people have an appetite for. Have you ever read a challenge and realized you liked most of the tasks but there were a couple of topics the organizer wanted you to read about that no amount of bribery would make you want to do? I’m trying to avoid that — SO — for each subcategory, we’ll have a number of tasks that you can eliminate, and you can substitute a similar task of your own choosing. For example, let’s say one subcategory lists historical eras and you have no interest in reading a book set in prehistoric times. Instead, you choose a book set in a historical era you are interested in and you list that era in one of the available blanks. You can substitute up to the number of designated blanks provided for each subcategory. The catch is the substitute you choose can’t already be in the task list — it has to be a “new” task.

The Characters
✔️ The Circumstances of the Story

Work on one category or as many as you like. And if a book fits a task, you’ve accomplished that task - even if you’ve already used that book on 20 other tasks. Use a book for as many or as few tasks (that it qualifies for) as you want. For tasks that have a visual element (such as things on the cover), please post the cover and identify the item.

There is no length restriction on what you read unless specified in the task. And no deadline!
