Order of books number question

I have a question, in a series can you put the same number in more than one book? I have some short stories coming out this year before the first book of the series and I was planning of having them all be, separately, 0.5 is that something I can do?

No, but they could be 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 -- for example.
