Not-Mary | 51 comments Hi. I'm looking for ghost books with this Beetlejuicy vibe. A bit scary, but mostly just bizarre and full of ghostly hijinks. It can be adult, young adult or middle-grade.

...cats? | 470 comments I used to love Eva Ibbotson's monster books, they all had that sort of goofy/spooky vibe. Books with ghosts include The Haunting of Hiram, Dial-a-Ghost, and The Great Ghost Rescue

Also:
Cornelia Funke's Ghosthunters series
Summon the Keeper
The Canterville Ghost

Meaning the ghosts can't be killing people?

Lobstergirl, I would prefer that nobody died because of ghosts. I'm looking for a more comedic take.

A ghost investigates his own murder; it's a classic murder mystery, so it's not really "scary", although not humorous either

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
This also seems a light read featuring a ghost (it's on my TBR list but I haven't read it)

I've read it eventually and, while it's not scary at all, it's not that humorous either. A gentle romance, not a bad read, but maybe not the type of book you're looking for.

No worries, I already read that one and I really enjoyed it. You're right it wasn't exactly what I asked for, but it wasn't much of a problem, since it was pretty good in its own right:)
