I know when I was a captain for a team Toppler last year it was easier to keep track of books read if there was a separate thread and we chit chatted and discussed strategy on the other.

❤️ what you did with the team names.

Off to seed my egg plant and peppers before the Toppler starts. Happy Reading everyone!!

Yes a separate thread would be less cluttered.

I have a starter station in my dining room with grow lights and shelves. I live in southeast Virginia so I can get things in the ground fairly early. My peppers and egg plant need to go in the ground April 17th, so I am starting them from seed now which gives them roughly 7 weeks to grow. My broccoli has already sprouted and will start my tomatoes next week.

Jayme | 4519 comments I don't want to be a downer, but Almeta I just have a quick question about one of Connie's reads. Can she read The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion if it's hyphenated all-girl to link with girl? I know I couldn't use star-crossed to link with star.

I just don't want her to read a book than not get credit for it. :(

Lori Z | 2086 comments Just thought I'd pop in to say Hi! I've started listening to Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life and also started reading Christmas is Murder. Our weather forecast is calling for a foot of snow over the next 5 days so I should have plenty of time to read. If nothing else it does make some fine toppler weather! Anyway, happy toppling!

Jayme | 4519 comments Hi Almeta - Would it be possible to keep a running score of our books read - maybe updated at the end of the day where we are marking our books read in the reporting link? I like to peek at the other teams' spreadsheets (I know - competitive) to see where we stand and it would be easier to compare.

Until we have four books connected in the chain, our score is zero. Once that happens, I do intend to show our score.

I haven't seen the other teams' scoring sheets. It implies, though, that they have started at the top of the chain, and are reading their way down. I wanted to be sure that the weakest links were covered first, and we have practically done that already,

I am trusting the Chain Reactors to read what they have said they would. If, nearer the end, they find they can not, then, those would be books that would not break the chain anyway.

Out of curiosity though, I will count up some scenarios. STAY TUNED.

message 142: by Almeta (last edited Feb 15, 2021 07:54AM) (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 11457 comments Because Jayme expressed a curiosity, AND because we were all secretly curious.☺

I have calculated a few scenarios to reflect a possible score. They are posted in messages 2, 3 and 4 of the reporting thread, Chain Reaction R3velations
