The Republic of Consciousness prize list is the only active discussion, and I am not sure any of those books is generating a huge amount of discussion. The Women's Prize longlist will be announced on Tuesday morning and the Booker International on Thursday, so we are about to get much busier.

Sorry that I left early last night - the tropical storm arrived with torrential rain, thunder & lightening- all blocking the signal from the satellite. A few minutes later we lost all power for an hour. The joys of living in rural New Zealand!

With apologies (and real regret) I am going to miss this evening's Zoom call. My grandmother passed away Thursday just two weeks shy of her 112th birthday. She was a marvel and her funeral is in a few hours. I would much rather she still be alive and I could join you all for what I am sure will be a wonderful conversation about the Booker longlist and many other things. Sorry to miss it.
