The Return by Rachel Harrison is about a girl who mysteriously went missing for two years and returns back to her hometown as if nothing happened. She has no recall of the previous two years. Her old friends decided to reunite and stay at a hotel together. From first sight they can tell their friend is different but other than appearance they can't quite tell what exactly has changed. After the few days of staying with each other eerie things keep happening and none of them know why.
From reading the back of the book I was really excited to read but was quickly disappointed. It had a good plot and it had potential to be a really good book. However, they chose to focus on the wrong things. It was like a bunch of filler details that didn't really make the book flow well. I felt like it was too dragged along.
But I can say the way she described the horror scenes were very descriptive and overall well written, I wish there were more throughout the book. I would give this book an overall rating of 2.
