I recently watched the linked below episode of Ask A Mortician with Caitlin Doughty where she visits the Starvation Heights 'health spa' site with author Gregg Olsen. Tons of details with video of the actual locations! It's a long video (53 minutes) but worth it, not only because of the subject, but also because Caitlin Doughty is awesome.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nltUJ...
Marvelous video. I really love Caitliin Doughty's down to earth, clear-eyed presentations of the reality of the end of life and what happens after.

I should post this on coincidences, I recently watched this video also. Was so glad Gregg was on it.

I saw that one too!

LOLOLOLOL
The last stanza is pure gold. Here are the complete lyrics, if you've never heard the song:If I should die before I wake,
All my bone and sinew take
Put me in the compost pile
To decompose me for a while.
Worms, water, sun will have their way,
Returning me to common clay
All that I am will feed the trees
And little fishes in the seas.
When radishes and corn you munch,
You may be having me for lunch
And then excrete me with a grin,
Chortling, "There goes Lee again."
I believe it was covered by Arlo Guthrie (originally by Lee Hayes) under the title 'In Dead Ernest'.
Somewhat to my surprise, I just found two -- not one, but two! -- more books about the exploits of Grady Stiles. He now has his own shelf. Our shining beacon, Fred Rosen, is still the one who broke ground for the others, no matter how many people write biographies of Grady.

K.A. wrote: "People just can't get enough of him. Is that a record for one particular criminal?"He's not fit to tie Jack the Ripper's shoes, but among more modern killers he may well hold the record. Dahmer has under 60. Manson, on the other hand...I'd have to check but they're probably pretty close.
The Manson family turns out to be the clear winner as I know I haven't added all the books I've found on that case, but Charlie has 163 books to Ted's measly 100...
K.A. wrote: "Sorry, Charlie...I guess in this case it's sorry, Ted."After a swift gander at the GR database the Helter Skelter shelf is now a lot closer to 200.
I just added a shelf called "aiding and abetting" for stories about people who were in hot water for assisting criminals in their nefarious deeds. There are now 100 freaking books on the O.J. Simpson shelf.
New shelves this week include 'Aiding and Abetting' and Billionaire Murders' (about Barry and Honey Sherman).
Now reading Sunstrike, a sci-fi novel by the guy who wrote the first book I came across on the Alice Crimmins case. The character we're following goes to a hotel where there's a big crowd and cameras rolling, and learns that soneone is making a movie there...about the Alice Crimmins case.

Thanks for sharing. This looks interesting. I am currently working on a novel on a serial killer couple. So, this will be useful for me.
Cheers,

In that case, you might want to take a glance at Beauty Killers: The True Story of a Successful Businessman, His Young Lover, and Their Murderous Rampage. It's a very well-written account of a true case of a serial killer couple that has a lot of interesting twists and turns.
