Hi, Abigail!I have a complete fantasy novel myself! It's a work of historical fiction (set in a loosely Anglo-Saxon England) sitting at 95k words. My target audience is YA/adult readers, but there are no explicit or mature themes, in case that might deter you. My email address is, in case you're interested: goldencarnation@gmail.com - I'd love to exchange works with you :)
A blurb:
In the final days of a war-hungry king, an ancient land of knights and magicians finds itself without a leader. Yet in the town square, there lies a stone fountain with the statue of a past king who had once brought peace to the land. In the statue's hands is a chalice, which was said to have been enchanted by the Lady of the Lake to bring prosperity to the people so long as the king remained good and kind. With time, the chalice was lost, and the Lady of the Lake was thought to have been a myth.
One day, a woman with pale eyes appears by the fountain. As she reveals herself to the kingdom, a curse arrives with her. So it will remain until the chalice is found and a good king sits upon the throne once more.
Hi there :)I'd be interested in maybe doing a swap. I have a completed fantasy/romance work that I'm looking for some feedback on. Full disclosure, it's a hefty one at over 190,000 (I know that can be a no for a lot of people...). It definitely has adult themes and some trigger topics, in case that's a consideration! I'll put a little about it below, let me know if you're interested!
Aurelia Moretti is NOT an underdog. She was born a noble and has never known a day of hunger in her life. Her existence has been one of luxury— fine foods, flashy clothing and a royal suite in the fortress at the crest of the city.
That certainly doesn’t mean her life has been easy, because she also happens to be addicted to Flaurazine. Not in the way that most people in the country of Vendetia are, taking it purely to stave off the brutal withdrawal that might otherwise claim their life. No, Aurelia is addicted in an excessive sort of way that will soften her brain and steal her wits if she doesn’t get it under control. But how can she, when it’s all that keeps her going while the tyrannical Prince Julian dictates her every move, isolating, belittling and occasionally abusing her? It’s the cost she’s had to pay in order to keep him in check, to soothe his rages in the increasingly vain hope that he might someday make a decent ruler.
There comes a point, when we must all face the fact that we cannot change someone else. So what’s a girl to do? Dump his ass and join an elite military task force, OBVIOUSLY.
Do not be misled, this is not the story of a girl broken, but of a woman reforged. This is the story of what can and should be done with privilege, of facing unpleasant truths and refusing to hide from them. It is a story of love against all odds, of healing and, ultimately, sacrifice. Along the way, there’s some heated passion, John Wick-like battles, drug lords and subterfuge. If you like action, sex and plotting, then Flaurazine is for you.

Hello,
Are you still looking to swap? I wrote a low fantasy/sci-fi novel at 88k, also in the vein of secretive universities, so it might be a fun swap!

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a beta read swap? My novel is a contemporary fantasy/new adult fantasy, and it is 145k words. I would be more than willing to read and critique your novel as well! I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi the most, but will read any genre as long as it sounds interesting.
Here is the blurb:
Curiosity is a dangerous game, one that intoxicates the mind and consumes the soul. The purpose of college is to nurture curiosity, but is knowledge worth stealing from someone else’s mind?
Among the core curriculum at Simonides University is mind palaces, where students learn to access the unlimited potential stored in their minds—potential to memorize instantly, to solve effortlessly, and to alter the functions of the mind itself. Intrigued by this newfound capability, Eli dives headfirst into the study of mind palaces, but the more he explores, the bigger the secrets grow. There are memories hidden in his mind palace too deep to uncover and equations too terrifying to solve.
Eli’s incredible talent for mind palaces does not go unnoticed, and he receives a mysterious invitation from a mind-infiltrating society, offering to teach him more. Too curious to decline, Eli finds himself learning how to trespass into foreign minds and forge memories, but what he does not realize is that once he joins, he cannot leave, and there are those who would kill for a mind like his.
