Jenycka Wolfe (jenyckawolfe) | 301 comments Iffix wrote: "I'm still working to come up with an ending for my third novella that I can be satisfied with. It includes an epic fantasy battle, something I am still very new with, so I worry about making it work."

When I get to where I think I'm stuck, I force myself to sit down and write. Sometimes my best ideas come out of a stream of supposed crap.

Denae Christine (denaechristine) | 167 comments Editing second book in my trilogy and in the middle of the first draft of the third book in the trilogy. Oh, and always looking for new, inexpensive ways to promote the first book in the trilogy.
My other series I set aside for now, but it's always crouching in the back of my head, impatiently waiting for me to finish with this one.

Kent S. (kentsbrown) | 28 comments Good for you, Denae, I find editing my books very rewarding.

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) | 190 comments I'm working on editing my second book in a series...and enjoying it:) I'm running through an idea in my head for another book and trying to figure out if I want to start on that or go back to another book that I'm on chapter 2 on. Decisions, decisions. Editing first, I guess.

Briana Hernandez | 8 comments I'm working on the third novel in my "Masterpiece Swords" series (the first book, The Masterpiece Swords: Bright Strength, was released last month). I plan on tying up many loose ends in this book, so it's become quite the project to write. I've never changed my mind so many times when writing a story!

message 309: by Angel (new)

Angel | 216 comments I'm working on three novels all mixed genres. One young adult psychological thriller/horror/mystery/ suspense/ dark romance, the second sci-fi-urban fantasy/paranormal and the third psychological/ thriller/mystery/suspense/urban fantasy/ etc.

message 310: by April (new)

April Wilson (aprilwilson) Besides writing book 2 in my romance bodyguard series, I started an unrelated novella this evening that caught me by surprise. I don't want to say any more than that, other than that it's an erotic novella. And unconventional. And not rooted in reality. And hot... did I say hot?

Wow, I'm looking forward to writing this baby. I'm looking at about 100 pages, which for me is really short. I hope to have it done and out soon.

I can't wait to ask for beta readers for this one. 0_0

Linda Dobinson (baspoet) | 14 comments I am working on my third collection of poetry which I am planning for November. The title is giving me bit of trouble, after Encounter I want something a bit more poetic.

message 313: by [deleted user] (new)

I am working on two novellas - they are companion pieces to one just published called Juliet's Journey http://amzn.to/1MPH25S. All three are set in Italy where I spent six months out of a 'mid-life' gap year in 2007-2008. They are fiction though!

message 314: by May (new)

May Sage (maysage) | 15 comments Well I generally work on about five stories at once; whenever I get the "writer's block" on one I just switch to another one, but my main project at the minute is an adult version of Cinderella - I'm ridiculously enthusiastic about it! I work full time and I'm pretty much writing four three thousand words a day on weekends, it's flying! :)

Lori Beasley-Holmes (loribeasleybradley) | 16 comments I'm working on Book 3 of my Soiled Dove Sagas. I just wrote a stage coach robbery. It was actually fun. I always love it when I get to kill a jerk!

message 318: by Cat (new)

Cat Blount | 11 comments I'm working on an ebook and a paperback titled You Guys Have It All Wrong About Homeschooled Kids! I wrote it in minutes, but the illustrations, phew... They take forever! I'm excited about this title!

message 319: by Adam (new)

Adam Brown | 1 comments In the process of editing my Sci Fi Post Apocalyptic Novella, working on my second poetry book which is a collaboration with an artist and will include 50 of my poems and 25 of the artist's paintings. Also just started a vampire thriller novella..on page 2.

message 320: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Tyree I am working on the 4th book in my YA fantasy series, The Stone Dragon Saga (The first 3 are available now Dragon On My Neck Dragon in My Yard (The Stone Dragon Saga) and Dragon on the Green)

I am also working on a related MG novel, an unrelated short chapter book, a leveled reader science/reading picture book (That's way more SUPER FUN than it sounds), and creating a picture book from my toddler's original story. Just enough to keep busy with ;)

message 321: by Matt (new)

Matt Doyle (mattdoyle) I'm currently working on the sequel to my debut novel WICK. Given it took me a long time to get WICK out there, I really want to get he sequel, CARNIVAL, out there much quicker. The first draft is about 2/3 done though, so it's looking good so far :)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) I'm working on...

...My tan.

Seriously, I'd like to say I'm working on a new project or next in series, but when the temperature is up over 100°, my brain shuts down.

I should've worked on my tan too but I tend to burn more than anything! lol.

I just got my manuscript back from my editor. I'm going over the changed right now and just have to fix up a few more things and then it's crunch time as I'll be going onto Createspace to upload it and all that jazz!

Okay, you caught me. I figured online I could pretend I'm not actually a ghost. ;)

Micah Sisk (micahrsisk) | 1042 comments As I said in #309...puttin' together me swag giveaways for Worldcon 2015. Got the final part of it today: Lanyards, check; lanyard clips, check; book cover badges, check!

Here I am tryin' to look all old and scary with one:
Embedded image permalink

The back of the badges has a brief book blurb, QR codes going to the book's Kindle and Smashwords pages. Would have liked to have done this with the cover to my next novel in the same universe but I don't have the cover art yet.

Hopefully people will find the swag cool enough to wear around the conference. Walking billboards w/direct links to my pages.

Oh well...fun to do anyway.

P.S. I cover up when I'm in the sun, and hide under a huge umbrella when at the beach, while wearing SPF 897 sunscreen.

That looks awesome! Did you make them yourself?
Good luck!

Micah Sisk (micahrsisk) | 1042 comments Elizabeth wrote: "That looks awesome! Did you make them yourself?"

Thanks!

No, I didn't make them myself. That would have been a bit difficult.

I ordered 100 lanyards custom made online. That was the most expensive part (they have "Merchant Corps" printed on them--The Merchant Corps Histories is the universe the book is in and for which the second novel is almost done).

The badges came from a different company, which normally prints custom tickets and event passes/badges. I had 200 of them printed, twice as many as I have lanyards. These are about as heavy as playing cards, made of a supposedly non-tear plastic. The cover image is just the cover of my eBook; the back of the badge has text and layout that I did in Word with two QR codes so people can scan them and order right at the conference.

And then I also ordered 100 vinyl snap straps to connect lanyard to badge from an online office supply store.

They were expensive enough to negate any royalties I might get off eBook sales (unless the QR codes on the back are used by multiple people per badge, which I doubt will happen). But the idea is really to get name recognition out there among hardcore SF fandom.

Susan Renee (susanrenee) | 2 comments Hi everyone! Newbie Indie Author here! Just finished my first book and am in editing/re-write stage right now. So frustrated that I can't find a title that I love

message 329: by Tim (new)

Tim Rinaldi | 3 comments Hola! I'm new to the group. I'm in the editing stage of my first novel, Mission from the Depths, in the literary fiction (religious, inspirational) and young adult genres. It's loosely based on my incredible experiences on mission trips to Honduras, and a percentage of the sales will go to support the people in the mountain villages.

Stanton Swafford (stantonswafford) | 12 comments My first novel, China Sea, recently went live on Amazon, Kindle, iTunes and Google Play Books. I've outlined the sequel, Java Sea. There is so much to do everyday marketing and promoting the first book. I do need to start writing Java Sea before the end of the month. Just do it!

Well I think they look great and it is a really cool idea! I hope that multiple people use them multiple times.

**thumbs up!**

Took one to work to show some co-workers. Came home w/out it 'cause one of them scarfed it up! Hopefully he'll wear it to the comic conventions and Magic the Gathering tournaments he goes to.
