What are you working on?
I think we should exchange links and read each others novels. Then perhaps we could get together and publicize as a group of 3-4 authors. Just a thought!
Even though I live on Social Security, I'm willing to pay to get your novels, either paperback or e-book versions. Just send the links. Mine are available on www.ruthchoward.com Once we've read a few, we can decide who we'd like to join up with. I sense a lot of enthusiasm and support--which is what we need right now more than ever.
New to Goodreads and just getting started as a debut author. The book is scheduled to launch in early May, as paperback and e-book, so the marketing goals are keeping me up late. Awaiting a quote from a video production company for the trailer. Was very pleased that they liked my screenplay for it. (going for cinematic, if I can afford it)My website was stuck in limbo, 95% complete but with bugs that were causing it to fail. Found someone with the expertise to get it unstuck. So relieved. Though it does need some work to go live. I'm ready to move on a Goodreads Book Giveaway, but want the website live first.
I must say, the enjoyment that I find in writing novels is not as apparent in the tasks associated with getting the book out to the readers.
Glad for the encouragement and partnership of group members to help me press onward.

I'm in the middle of the final re reads of a novel set to be published in the upcoming months. Crazy how many times you have to read your manuscript, and each time I still catch typos! I'm learning as I go...
I'm just detaching from the publishing tasks of my last book and starting to get into the next one. I've drafted 4 chapters using Scrivener for the first time. Realizing how much research I have to do for this one, but I enjoy it. Spend a couple of days writing a "declaration" by one of my leading characters to get to know him better, and found the time spent well worth it. So I'll be doing that again for at least 5 more characters. I need to do it before I get much further into the book. Ideas starting to come to me at night, so I keep a pad and pencil by the bed. The new book is taking hold!

I'm learning..."I just recently finished that stage, which seemed to last forever! Each new reader found more errors -- many more than the professional editor found! It's worth the constant combing, but probably not by you. Reading it backwards was the best thing I could do because I was so familiar with it.
Helen and Lorine: (Lorine) Very nice! I just viewed your book trailer. I didn't know they were making these for books, but it makes sense. (Helen) There is a lot of software available to make videos/slideshows with a variety of special effects. I used one at work but it was pretty pricey. I'm going to take a look at iMovie that came on my Apple computer. I've used it to create basic animated logos and art. If you do a search online, you'll probably find free, fairly easy to use software to download that will help you. You can even add music to some.

I'm learning..."No kidding! One thing I love about KDP is the ability to repub as many times as you like. I wonder if my 130,000 words will ever be perfect, perfect. Commas are bugging me now.
I just finished the multiple re-reading, proofing. It's such hard work. I found a good source for proofreading/editing manuscripts--Purge Your Prose of Problems. It's written by a woman named Bobbi Christmas. It's only available in PDF format and isn't free. However it is so much easier to use than The Chicago Manual of Style. Bobbi Christmas also has a book available in paperback,Write in Style, that tells you how to use your word processor to make proofing/editing more efficient. I didn't know that about KDP. I have to check that out.
BTW, Bobbie Christmas is a professional editor.

I'm working on editing stages my first novel, Harmless. I just signed paperwork to publish it with a self-publishing house out of Victoria BC. Super excited! Should have it publish by this fall (fingers crossed.)

I've read it many different ways, (starting in the middle, only reading sections out of order, etc) but I haven't tried backwards yet!
And to Barbara. Commas are my nightmare, lol. I end up using them way too much. (at every pause, pretty much) Still working on that. XP

So, I just finished an urban fantasy and started a scifi project.
Now I just need to learn how to fit more time in for reading...since my TBR pile is getting a little imposing x D
My main project is a sci fi romance set in an alternative world where technology is far more advanced yet there's been an unpleasant swerve to the religious right. My ageing hero falls in love with Josh, an advanced robot, and they have to go through hell to be together. It mixes all my favourite genres.Otherwise, I'm working on a collection of Christmas themed stories (I'm a quarter of the way through) and any other ideas that come to mind. Some of the best projects are completely spontaneous!
Hi Everyone,I'm writing a memoir called, "Chasing Shadows." Missing in America for the past 45 years, brother Rich mysteriously reappears along with his '66 GTO convertible and coerces me to retrace the cross-country route he took back in '70 to settle in a commune in Corrales, New Mexico. With me taking control behind the wheel and him in the passenger seat, I recreate some of his experiences as a flower child/Jesus freak. We visit places like The Badlands, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, the Haight/Ashbury District, Yosemite, The Grand Canyon and Zion National Park in an attempt to understand the life he chose, which was so drastically different from mine. Along the way we relive memories of the brief 18 years we shared growing up in the absence of our alcoholic father in a struggling single-parent household of five kids. In exploring our relationship, I confront several personal issues surrounding the role Rich played in shaping who I am and the impact his disappearance has had on my life.

I'm rewriting the ending of my foodie thriller Gravity Games and hope to release it in April as an eBook and probably in May as a paperback. My stuff is completely undisciplined in terms of genre. GG is about food & wine. It's also about murder and intrigue, economic chaos, mad scientists and an international hunt for terrorists by agents with super powers. Am I over-reaching? My first novel, Late Bite, was a courtroom thriller/horror/social media yarn about a vampire who goes on trial in Toronto and ends up getting his own late night talk show before he crosses paths with special forces operatives. Yikes!I'm trying to build audience for GG's release. Anyone who wants a free eBook copy of Late Bite, let me know.

I just finished writing a short story teaser for The Zeuorian Hunted (the second book in The Zeuorian series). Now I'm working on the second draft of Control a novelette between book 1 and 2 of The Zeuorian series. Once I'm done, I'll start working on the final draft of book 2.It's nice to know, I'm not the only one with a crazy writing schedule.

I love this page and all the creativity abound!I'm almost finished writing a novel that is my personal favorite of my own to date, which I'm sure many of you know from experience is a very exciting feeling, knowing in your heart that your current project is, at least to you, a pretty great one. It's a ghost story that isn't all horror (it has plenty of darkness both of the horrific and scary kind, and of the emotional kind) and has its heart in the idea of opening one's heart up, healing from trauma and loss and depression, and so on. It's called "Other Endings".

Working on a sequel to my novel, The Stonegate Sword.It takes place in Colorado a century from now.
The working title is "The False Prophet."

Writing is fun but I'm currently editing my fantasy novel. It's been 14 years in the making (seriously!) but now I have the revised version of Book One of The Four Worlds, A Fantasy Adventure series. I just finished setting up the website and am working on concepts of the book cover and some of the interior illustrations. My book is a YA fantasy called The Puppeteer. I plan to self publish as soon as I finish writing book 2. Oh right...maybe I should get off here and write! TTYL... 8-)

I published on Kindle--three novels and my family history. The problem with kindle is that they don't publicize unknown authors, so we have to do it ourselves. My submissions got great reviews from readers but that didn't help. It was up to me and at that time, I was a complete novice about publicizing.
