Isn’t Doctor Who already a “shared universe” since these the TV show(s), the spin-off shows like Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood and then the books, the comics AND the audios from Big Finish?

Rick | 2260 comments I now have the image in my wee brain of a Doctor Who channel that streams the episodes from the series, has news programs and podcasts AND has streaming versions of the Big Finish audios as well. I would TOTALLY be a subscriber to that channel.

Definitely. The cool thing about Doctor Who and all its spinoffs is that it's all so flexible to take in all the variations available.

Rick | 2260 comments And there’s so much stuff. So much more than just the episodes.

I’m picturing Aidan Gillen as Stuart Jones on Queer as Folk (UK) - “My world is HUGE!”
(And he names all the actors who’ve played the Doctor, in order, by first and last name. And his character wasn’t even a fan of the series, he was proving to his friend, who is a Whovian, that he’d been paying attention all along.)

Fun bit of trivia - on one of the bookshelves in that show, the set people added a copy of RTD's New Adventure Novel Doctor Who: Damaged Goods, though I have no idea how one would see it...

Doctor Who Damaged Goods by Russell T. Davies

Rick | 2260 comments Of course Vince Tyler (played by Craig Kelly) would have had as much Doctor Who stuff scattered around his flat as possible. So that doesn’t surprise me in the least. For his 30th birthday, Stewart Jones buys him a life-size remote -controlled K-9, while his Australian boyfriend buys Vince a car. Clearly, Stewart knows Vince better.
