Genna | 192 comments So I’ve been wondering, how long do you wait to re read a book, especially if there’s a big twist? Do you wait till you forget what it is, or not wait long at all?

message 2: by Grace (new)

Grace | 35 comments If it is book that I absolutely cannot stop thinking about I either read it again, or make a book playlist. If it has a big twist I would read two or three other books then reread it, that way you forget a little bit of it but not all of it.

sofia isabella m (fiatheburntleprechaun) | 19 comments I wait awhile before re reading, and since I always have books on my TBR shelf, I'll read a few of those first, then get back to the original book after I've filled my head with other stories. Tada, I have forgotten the plot :)

message 4: by Gianna (new)

Gianna Schiavone (thefaultinourgames) | 13 comments Once i’ve forgotten what happened.

Gianna Schiavone (thefaultinourgames) | 13 comments when i was younger though sometimes i’d reread it right after i just read it. it depends.

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 48 comments Depends on the book. Sometimes there is a lag in a series and I have to go back and read the previous book(s) to refresh myself about the story. Other times I am just in the mood to read an old favorite. Usually those are about once a year.

message 7: by Dorothy (new)

Dorothy | 38 comments I normally wait at least 2 months.

message 8: by Bel (new)

Bel (belandbooks) | 17 comments It's all personal preference, but for me I have never reread unless I forgot the plot, and usually I remember pretty soon into the book. However if I found a book that I really liked I wouldn't be opposed to rereading it five times three minutes after I've finished it. Some books are just like that.

message 9: by Genna (new)

Genna | 192 comments for me i feel it’s easier to re read contemporary or fiction over and over while fantasy and thrillers i have to wait

message 10: by Sonya Bright (new)

Sonya Bright | 3 comments I usually get obsessed with something and reread it a few times in a row, and then forget about it for years. (Actually, I do the same thing with music etc.)

Recently, I picked up two books I loved years ago, and I'd forgotten the twists at the end. It was so good to experience them again!

message 11: by iminyourwallllls (new)

iminyourwallllls | 71 comments I usually reread the Harry Potter books twice a year, and other books when I see them on my shelf and realize I don't remember parts of the plot.

message 12: by booklover (new)

booklover | 36 comments This is probably way too long but I wait for about a year so I can forget wat happened

message 13: by Megan (new)

Megan Chamberlain Some books, like Harry Potter, I will reread whenever. For anything else, I like to wait at least a year or two. While I may remember the big plot points, it's enough time to forget a lot of details which makes the reread more exciting.

message 14: by Lynds (new)

Lynds (slytherkid) | 4 comments Like, an hour?

Kenzie (kenzieandherbooks) | 57 comments I wait until I don’t have anything new to read which is like every 5 months

message 16: by Booktastically (last edited Feb 23, 2021 03:38PM) (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 215 comments If you're obsessed enough like me, three to five minutes after finishing it will suffice.

But if you're actually sensible who dat the prime time to reread has begun when the details start getting fuzzier.

message 17: by Fall (new)

Fall T I wait for 5-6 months.

message 18: by Sara L. (new)

Sara L. (saralnerd) | 99 comments Long enough for me to forget the plot...which is very fast....XD

message 19: by kyla (new)

kyla For me its like a month but I remember books I read 7 yrs ago which was on wattpad ofc

message 20: by Fabitha (new)

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 73 comments I am proud to announce that I have finished Naomi Novik's Uprooted and started it all over again the day after.
Because yes ❤️

So do as you please! Reading is a joy we should never ever chain if we can avoid it.

message 21: by Rasa (new)

Rasa Ievkalne | 39 comments I have a list of books i reread every time i need to cleanse my palette. When i get sick of heaps of books i read in search for rare masterpieces and when i can't stand to start another one or everything i read starts to annoy me, i read one or more of my go to list. That reminds me why i love reading and what it is i am looking for in books. Usually it happens once or twice a year.

message 22: by Ammi (new)

Ammi Martinez I read The Song of Achilles, cried my heart out, and then started it again the next day....and i'm re reading it again right now. But, if it's something with a twist or a harder read I normally wait around a year once I've forgotten details.

message 23: by Lex ᶻ˖ °.ᐟ (new)

Lex ᶻ˖ °.ᐟ (alexasreading) | 22 comments tldr; any chance I get really. I tend to annotate my books underlining quotes and scenes. Or just invoking stupid commentary. this usually helps me to "relive" the book. I also make playlists that bring out the experience too. books that don't have big twists and are rather just lyrical I read day in and out again (ex. The Fault in Our Stars).

message 24: by BiBookDemon (new)

BiBookDemon I re-read a book after procrastinating. I'll want to re-read it, and I won't until like, 3 months later.

message 25: by UnicornSparkles (new)

UnicornSparkles (ellaencantalibros) | 9 comments Until you are ready to read again with vigor. Hopefully this time you’re not mad when your fave character dies...

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 126 comments I'll wait a month or so and try to read a book or two that have a different plot or at least one book of a different genre.

message 27: by Nathan (new)

Nathan (nathan-93) 1. When I have forgotten the plot twist.
2. When Nostalgia Feeling kicks in.
3. When I want my heart shattered into a million pieces again.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I usually re-read a book once or twice a month so I don't forget

message 29: by Euriel (new)

Euriel | 17 comments I have to wait a very very long time before re reading a book like more than 2 years. I want it to feel new-ish in a way

message 30: by booklover024 (new)

booklover024 | 13 comments it really depends for me. I can wait a year or immediately re read it as soon as I finish it. it just depends on how much I liked it.

message 31: by Lorrany (new)

Lorrany (lorranylimas) it depends for me too, but basically i like to wait a couple of months, especially since my tbr is enormous and i prefer to discover new authors

message 32: by Israel (new)

Israel Barrios | 33 comments I believe there is no right time to re read a book, in my opinion every book teach us something and mark our toughs, therefore, we should re read a book when we need to remember a feeling or want to relive a significant experience.

jace (taylor's version) (jacespages) | 40 comments Anytime you'd like- usually, i wait a couple of months, wait for the buzz to die down, or I might just re-read my favorite parts *cough Carry On cough*

˚ ༘♡ kara⋆。˚ (givememyname) | 3 comments if i really loved that book then a few weeks but sometimes when i just think about the book and forget what happened then few months

message 35: by Kristin Jane (new)

Kristin Jane (kristinshep) | 69 comments I’d say maybe a couple months, read other books in between, but if it’s a book you really really love maybe about three to four weeks???

message 36: by Chapter Ann (new)
