message 51: by Milica (new)

Milica DIY "Why would he refuse to acknowledge his true name?" she murmured to herself once he was gone.
She was about to leave the spot she was standing at when something hit her from above. She looked at the tree, but nothing was there. Then, she looked at the object, and her jaw dropped.
"Who could this belong to?" she asked, trying to think if the owner was a person who was currently residing at the campus.

message 52: by claire (last edited Aug 03, 2021 12:03PM) (new)

claire (clairealden) She picked up the object and examined it. It was a quill.
"Does this belong to someone?" Tanya called. She waited for a response. Nothing.
She heard a thump behind her. "What could that be?" she said to herself as she turned around. Laying on the ground was a canister of ink. There was something engraved on the side. It wrote, The Scroll of Sovereignty is always misleading, unless it's written on with the Ink of Veracity.

Milica DIY "It's impossible," she whispered, staring at the object as if she were expecting it to dissolve.
She had read about The Scroll of Sovereignty and the Ink of Veracity in the school library, but she was convinced that they had disappeared, nowhere to be found. Now, the ominous canister of ink was standing right in front of her, waiting to be used for the purpose it was made for. But she had no idea where the scroll could be, and no idea what to ask either.
While wondering why the ink chose her of all people, she saw a golden glow coming from the forest.

message 54: by claire (new)

claire (clairealden) She stared at the glow, transfixed. "It can't be-" Tanya says. Then she runs. She was always told she was slow, but not today. She sprinted toward the glow until she finally came upon it. "The scroll!" she laughed, "There's no way."
She picked it up, and untied the velvet ribbon. She unrolled the scroll, slowly, not because she was nervous, but because she didn't want to damage it. Written on the old parchment, in very neat handwriting were three words. Write your question.

message 55: by Milica (new)

Milica DIY She had so many questions on her mind - who were the men that killed Mira, why was she killed, why Bali insisted on calling himself Ninan. She sighed due to her regret about the last question. Even though she didn't like his overwhelming need for privacy, she had been his friend for years and was thus supposed to respect his wishes.
After thinking for several minutes, she decided to write the question down. As she heard the sound of someone's footsteps approaching her, she dropped the quill onto the ground.

claire (clairealden) "Who's there?" she asked, throwing the scroll in the forest, hoping to find it later.
"It's me, Bali," Bali snarled, "And I know you were asking earlier, Ninan's dead. Along with the rest of his pack."
Tanya had no time to grieve. She needed revenge.
"Why have you been impersonating him?" Tanya asked.
Bali replied, "Why of course, for the Scroll of Sovereignty."
"What do you mean?" Tanya asked, confused.
"That scroll you gave me, had a map on it. A map that showed me where the scroll was hidden. And it led me here. So moved aside, human!"

message 57: by Milica (new)

Milica DIY She crossed her hands. "Why have you infiltrated the Academy without a scholarship? You know they could catch you!"
"Yeah, as if they could catch a guy who can impersonate anyone at any time."
"I still don't want you to risk-"
"Your freedom? Exactly what I expected you to tell me. However, you have to consider the fact that I can make my own decisions. I would do anything to serve some justice to the King and his court."
"I refuse to believe that they would do something evil!" she shouted louder than when she was warning him, which surprised even her.
Suddenly, Bali started talking in a mock voice. "It's for the greater good, Tanya. Who will miss a group of random people from the street, anyway?"
"But what did Mira ever do to them?"
He frowned. "She had an ability they didn't want to see near them."

message 58: by claire (new)

claire (clairealden) "That doesn't mean you should kill them," Tanya said.
"That doesn't mean that they should've killed her," Bali responded.
He suddenly transformed back into his wolf form. The transformation of werewolves always made Tanya shudder.
Real werewolves, like Bali and Ninan, don't transform under a full moon. They transform according to their emotions. So when they are sad, or mad, or annoyed they become a wolf. But when they're happy, or excited, or playful they are in human form.
Of course, Tanya is always sad when she thinks of Mira, but Bali is too. Which is why he was changing.
Bali began to howl. A long, deep howl that makes you want to cry. Tanya has never felt bad for Bali, but this howl made her want to give him a hug.
"Bali," Tanya said. But he ignored her. He began to dig where he believed the Scroll of Sovereignty.
Tanya didn't want to get on Bali's bad side, so she began to back away, knowing that eventually he'd find out it wasn't there.

Milica DIY I don't know either. Let's just think of something. I'll try after I have finished breakfast if you don't by then.

Ok. :)

Milica DIY "Why is the Scroll of Sovereignty not there?" Bali grumbled once he was done digging.
"It's not here," Tanya responded meekly, just barely looking him in the eyes.
"Where is it then?" he shouted, approaching her swiftly.
Before she had the chance to think of a plan, the scroll glowed from the forest again.
Bali scowled. "Why did you lie to me? You were the only person I could trust, and now you're siding with the royals and hiding everything from me."
"You have to understand that I have difficulty with believing all of this is real too."
"All of it will be solved if you give me the scroll. I will find the location of everyone who participated in the murders of Mira and her family and make sure that they never breathe afterwards."
The tranquillity in his eyes and voice sent a shiver up Tanya's spine. She could not understand how he could be so calm. But before she could say or do anything, he went to the forest.

claire (clairealden) Tanya chased after him. She needed to get to the scroll first. But she had an advantage... the Ink of Veracity. Hopefully he didn't know it existed.
Tanya was a good ten feet away when Bali found the scroll. He stared at the glowing object and began to change back into a human. He picked up the scroll and saw the one word that Tanya had written, Why. Bali scowled. Then wiped it off with his hand. Then he turned around to look at Tanya.
"This isn't for us," he said, "It's for Mira." He took out a ballpoint pen and wrote the question, Where is every single person who participated in killing Mira?
"I order you not to avenge Mira!" Tanya said. Just because they killed her, doesn't mean they need to be killed.
"You don't get to order me to do anything," Bali sneered.
"Yes, I do," she said proudly. And with a snap of her fingers her wings appeared and a crown was on her head.
"There's no way. Stop joking Tanya," Bali said.
"It's Princess Tanya to you."
"But Mira was the only Fairy Princess!" Bali said.
"My parents kept me a secret," Tanya said.
"So you're-"
"Mira's sister," Tanya finished.

message 64: by Unknown (new)

Unknown Reader | 180 comments “ how is that even possible ? Why would your parents keep you, a princess, a secret ?” Bali said trying his best to control his frustration.

“ some stuff about prophecy, protection and backup ..you don’t need to know that” Tanya waved her hand to make it look irrelevant. Even though they both knew it wasn’t.

“ Anyway, you can’t just kill anyone you wish for revenge-”

“ Stop right there ! don’t try to change topic. I have no idea why would you keep the fact that you are a princess a secret, but this just makes things worse. Mira was your sister, you’re just gonna let the people who killed her get away with it ? Why ? Because you are too soft-hearted for revenge ?” Bali shouted barely able to keep anger in control, his eyes never wavering from Tanya. He wanted answers and he wanted them now.

Tanya took a deep breath to stabilize her emotions. She couldn’t believe Bali would suspect her to let people get away with killing Mira. She have spent nights reliving those nightmares, praying for things to be different. She wanted to get justice for Mira as much as Bali did, if not more. But killing wasn’t the way of doing that.

“ it isn’t that easy. Don’t you get it ? There is something bigger going on. Why did those men kill my parents ? Why did they kill Mira ? We need to get answers to those questions and killing those men is definitely not gonna give us any answer “

Bali didn’t look any convinced but at least he wasn’t seething with anger anymore. He looked willing to listen to Tanya at least.

“ but what will ? This scroll isn’t giving any straight answer” Bali said as he looked down at the scroll’s ridiculous answer.

claire (clairealden) Find the Map of Revenge, Then Ask Again. was written on the scroll.
"What is this supposed to mean?" Bali asked, showing Tanya what it said. Tanya just shrugged. She was still annoyed about the argument they just had. And she didn't want him to know about the Ink of Veracity.
"It sounds so fake!" Bali said, "But, the Scroll of Sovereignty said to find it-
"Yep," Tanya said, avoiding his eyes.
"Tanya, are you hiding something from me?" Bali said through flared teeth.
"Why would I be hiding something from you?" she asked, lifting her gaze.
"That's what I was wondering," Bali said, changing into a wolf once more.

message 66: by claire (new)

claire (clairealden) Tanya backed up, as Bali began to walk forward. "I'm not your friend. Don't you get that? Even if I was hiding something, I would never tell you! You're Bali, not my friend Ninan. You pretended to be him to get the map, and you got it! And then you killed him. And now, you are trying to kill a princess. A princess. So, by order of Princess Tanya, back off!"
"Just tell me what you're hiding and I'll make everything right with the world. All of the people who killed Mira will be dead!"
"Revenge is never the answer, Bali," Tanya said as Bali took a step forward.
"I said 'BACK OFF!'" Tanya said, and she swooped down, took the scroll, and ran.

message 67: by LittleRedReader (new)

LittleRedReader For a second Bali stood there frozen in shock. Could it be? He had thought that Tanya had loved Mira but now he was uncertain. If she had really cared for Mira she would want to avenge her. Anger boiled within him. Okay. If she wasn’t going to help him he’d do it himself.
He always had worked better alone anyway.

Bananabell | 81 comments Tanya keeps flying weaving in and out of the trees. She doesn't notice until she finally stops that she is crying slightly. Shaking her head she wipes her tears and looks around hopping that Bali won't find her. Looking back down at the scroll she questions all her options.
