I am ready...but Erica is waiting for the book.
It says a physical copy is "shipped" and since there were four different libraries in my city with a copy I'm assuming I'll have the book Monday or Tuesday. So I'm good if we start Monday.

So I started and I'm hooked. Stopped after chapter 10 with great difficulty.

I also find her friend Max’s creative cursing entertaining. Question, do you try and her accents in your head when you read dialog? I have been trying to her a Texan accent.
I am "just" trying to traslate it in as much creative ways I can think with actual swear words.Oh my if we are not waiting for an amazing love triangle (or quadrangole? Nash looks too old and possibly interested in Libby and Xander is maybe too young? So this leave us with the closest siblings).
Also, I have the feeling this Tobias Hawthorne is a bit like Heargraves in the Umbrella Academy? That's gonna be cool.
Yeah that’s what I like about Max’s dialog. Some of it’s a puzzle and some is very clear. I’m very worried it’s going to pull a The Mortal Instruments here and they’ll be her siblings, but it would be more fun if they aren’t.
Yep, some are quite difficult to grasp xD that's genius btwI hope they're not siblings too. It would be WAY more fun, and she's quite headstrong so I'm very curious to see how her relationship with Greyson will develop (I can already see him trying to boss her around, good luck with that).
Yeah usually the whole adults writing ya and purposely not using swears bothers me, but the author has done a clever job and it just works.

Yes chapter 46. Sorry I shouldn't have read more but I couldn't help it. I should be reading House of Blood and Earth instead. So completely random but I had a lemon blueberry scone for lunch right before I read about Xander and his love of scones. So far everything I'm guessing about the mystery is not panning out. How about you guys?

@Rushali yeah this book has very good quotes so far. I also like that she says being that rich is just plainly absurd. She is very levelheaded.

School work comes first bud. We can slow down there are other books. Barnes has some thoughtful one liners in this book. I still don't understand the very first riddle. "If yes is no and once is never, then how many sides does a triangle have?" I'm very bad with riddles but good with visual puzzles.

Just a quick fun question:-
Considering as it's conveyed in the story, that Hawthorne boys are "Magical", who would you choose out of these four? Who appeals to you the most?
Well, teenager me would have said Greyson in a heartbeat, but old wise me is definitely saying Nash. He seems quite reliable, even if we don't know the full story yet. I think I'll enlist people for the riddle too lol let's see who figures out first!
I agree with picking Nash because he's chill and doesn't seem emotionally troubled. However the Grayson-Avery-Jameson triangle is entertaining. I have no idea how that's going to go. A ya book with a love triangle where the characters have secret pain should be to cliched to work??? But somehow it does. 😃I asked my sister and she was stumped as well.

Yeah I wanted to read a book featuring love triangle since long and I am glad I finally found it in this one.. I am intrigued what will happen and how everything is going to work out.
Since posting I have a read a chapter or two and I'm starting to think that Nash is the dark horse. 🤷♀️ I like when I can't figure out the end game and secrets in a book til near the end.

I'm at chapter 51 (yeah I couldn't resist but I made do reading Novik's Uprooted, that's very good too. The last time I tried to lent a book from the online library it didn't work so I'm glad I could read this one. I read until 3 in the morning!) Back to the current book, what do you think of Max? I tried to put myself in her shoes and well, I don't know what I'd do if my friend suddenly inherited a huge fortune in those awkward circumstances. I'll probably tell her to stay put until I'd book a flight to stand by her side, if she'd had me. Or even if she won't.
I'm that kind of person ahah like "no one messes w/my friendz" "but I can do this on my own" "yes, but better be safe than sorry" *arrives armed to the teeth*
So I'm curious to see how their relationship will fare.

No worries I may have finished it... I was also confused as to why she didn't fly her bestie out for the weekend. I'm ready to talk about Emily when you are. I've enjoyed this book and the mystery but I keep getting frustrated with Avery letting everyone treat her poorly.@Fabi I love Uprooted. I really want to reread Spinning Silver this year if it's on your radar let me know for a buddy read please.
I'm heading fast toward the end too! A very fast read! There is A LOT to discuss tho, and Emily is definitely someone to talk about. Ps. Erica oh yes pls let's do this. I have to retrieve it but let's keep in touch!
