SOLVED. Two books from 1990s I think. First one, present day treasure hunters trying to find ancient egyptian tomb. Second one set in ancient egypt telling the story of who was buried in the tomb. [s]

I remember the first one was written like a thriller/mystery. The treasure hunters make their way to a jungle to find the tomb and then having to get past various traps without dying.

I remember that the second one was about a brilliant eunuch who was a servant to a princess.

I understand the rules of this forum. I put them together because the second is a prequel to the first.

Thanks Becca. Yes, that's it. And from that I find the other: "The Seventh Scroll".

I see now that they were published in the opposite order from what I remembered - I think I read them in the "wrong" order. They are part of his "Ancient Egypt" series. Now I'm thrilled that there are other stories.
