Stanley Vdz | 1 comments Hi guys,
I've just finished writing the first chapter of my future book and would be delighted if some people could review the first page.
Thanks a lot

Chapter 1 :

It all started on a bright cold day in April as I was thinking about what was to come the very next day. Not because I was looking forward to something. No, I already knew that tomorrow would be just like today; just as depressing, just as lonely and life would remain just as unchanged. It wasn’t supposed to be a common day though. Some would even say it was one of the most important days in their entire life.
Tomorrow was to be the day I would enter secondary School, however I didn’t feel the least bit of excitement knowing what I would have to face. As humans are supposed to have an especially developed instinct, I may have sensed what the following day would be like. Or maybe these feelings were caused by me feeling different than most other eleven year old kids; and I think they too felt the same about me. The root of this difference was probably caused by me never wanting to play with them. First and foremost, why would I want to play, when there was so much more to learn about life, nature and the human being. I didn’t fancy having fun or seizing the day, as our teacher Mr. Robertson always said. The only thing I truly desired was to learn, more specifically the true meaning of life. This came to me as an obsession very early; I stumbled upon this question in an old book called “The Catcher In The Rye” which talked about a child called Holden Caulfield, who is profoundly lost in life and questions its meaning. While reading it, I realized that I shared some of the opinions on life described in the book. I didn’t want to spend my life playing with others, learning things I didn’t wanted nor saw any purpose in. I saw no reason in surrounding myself with people just to talk, play, chat, walk, laugh, run, or do any other meaningless stuff. Why would I aspire to do such things ? These were thoughts I shared with Holden; and he became my first and last friend; an imaginary friend with whom I would talk, play, chat, walk, laugh, run or do any other meaningless stuff. And one day we came to talk, or rather he asked me the question, the one and only question worth asking a million times with a million different answers.

Gurasees (booksrlife201) I like the first chapter, especially the last line "The one and only question worth asking a million time with million different answers." Good luck writing your book.
