Sorry, was busy this week and couldn't reply to any messages. Just checked the mini-challenge. I'll finish up a few books on chess then!

Yeah I will read Verity. I'll add to the spreadsheet.

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments So, I will not reread The Joy Luck Club but I did order it from my library so if Elena can not get to it, I will. Just let me know by the 21st if I need to read it.

I haven't looked for The Joy Luck Club yet, so it is ok for me if you reread it. I will find another book for the mini challenge.

I don't see where we ever needed a Green 7. What we still need is a Green 9. Am I missing something?

Hi Kaylee! I am currently reading The Portable Veblen by Elizabeth Mckenzie - is that a green cover? Sorry, I am not the best with colours :)

message 164: by Verónica (last edited Feb 17, 2021 09:05AM) (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Ok, so I'll save Verity for later. I'll see if I can find a green 9. Maybe Voyager has something with N, a character or place? It could still work. Green covers seem hard to get by.

I did see it, but I was guessing it was for March. 😂 Well, it happens... We'll work it out.

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Do we have our March cards yet? If not, when will we get them. I'm holding back some books.

message 171: by Vivi (last edited Feb 17, 2021 10:12AM) (new)

Vivi | 137 comments Finished Written with You. It's updated on the spreadsheet and in my uno shelf. Will count for the mini-challenge.

Started reading Spark, will count for the mini-challenge too, as it has a red cover.

message 172: by Jodi (new)

Jodi | 130 comments If we read or start a book in Feb can it only be used for February hands? Or is it by finish date? Do we need anything else for February I could help with ?

message 173: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 137 comments Jodi wrote: "If we read or start a book in Feb can it only be used for February hands? Or is it by finish date? Do we need anything else for February I could help with ?"

I think it's by finish date. Books started and finished in February can only be used in February; while books started in February but finished in March can be used in March.

In the Spreadsheet we can see more or less what we need of cards... There's a tab called 'copy of official feb board', when it is updated we will be able to see what cards are left..

message 178: by Elena (new)

Elena Akgül | 73 comments For the mini-challenge, I am going to read either The Sleeping Doll (the same rating as the Joy Luck Club, 3.94) or The Warning (the same rating & female author)

message 179: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments I am reading The Joy Luck Club and should have it done by the first of the week so we can cross it off our mini challenge. I am finding that any book I read can relate to our book if you think about it. Right now I am also reading The Echo Wife which is about a woman and her clone involved in a crime and The Joy Luck Club has twins as characters so that relates to the twin aspect in The Echo Wife.

message 180: by Alejandra (new)

Alejandra | 225 comments Im reading “the kitchen God’s wife”, which is by the same author of the joy lick club.

message 181: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Hi Kaylee,

With just a week left to this month, are you going to give us an update on what books we need to fill remaining cards? I am reading books now but could adjust what I am reading to fill holes. I can probably read another 3 or 4 books. I also wondered if everyone in our team is still playing? I've heard from other groups that sometimes people drop out and don't tell anyone. Just wondered with some of the players that haven't posted any books.

I think you have to post your email here, so Kaylee can add your email/you so you can have access to the spreadsheet.

message 184: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments I’ll get an update to you guys sometime today:))) also the link in my first message with our spreadsheet is editable by everyone so you should be ok. Send me your gmail if youre having problems

message 186: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments FYI- The March cards have been posted. I found them on the original cards google sheet. I'm glad I held back some red books because we'll need some in March.

message 187: by Elena (new)

Elena Akgül | 73 comments @Felicity Thank you! I've just checked them. I am glad I decided not to read the book with the blue cover (One Hundred Names) this month. It is suitable for 0 Blue and it will be the first book I'm going to read in March

message 188: by Vivi (last edited Feb 22, 2021 12:20PM) (new)

Vivi | 137 comments So, I'm gonna leave my current book to be finished in March. It's this one:

Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer

Will fit any of the red cards we need - red 2, red 4 or red 6.

Will read Silent by Sara Alva for now...

message 189: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments @Elena- That's great! One of my red books would work for a 4 or a 6 red, both of which we need.

message 190: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments This is the red book I was talking about: Moonflower Murders

message 191: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments @Vivi- How do you add a book's cover to your post? I tried and it just gives the link.

message 192: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Moonflower Murders (Susan Ryeland #2) by Anthony Horowitz Trying again.

message 193: by Elena (new)

Elena Akgül | 73 comments Moonflower Murders (Susan Ryeland #2) by Anthony Horowitz seems great, I've added it and the first in the series to my TBR list :)

Seems you worked it out :)

message 195: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments @Lynne- I have a question. I belong to a book club that is going to be picking our books for the year this week. I was planning to suggest The Book of Lost Friends and noticed you had read it. Then I noticed you read Miss Benson's Beetle which has been on my TBR list. Would your recommend both these books as good for discussions?

message 196: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments @Elena- I really enjoyed The Magpie Murders.

message 197: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments hey yall; working on the spreadsheet now to get an update to you guys. so far I know that we still need one more wild draw 4 card; so any book that could fit a

1 Yellow
9 Green
7 Blue
4 Green
5 Yellow

anybody have anything on the plate they can use? Elena and Veronica have stuff on the board that could potentially work if they can still get to them this week, but obviously anybody could do it.

You can count on 7 Blue, I'll probably finish Addie LaRue in a couple of days, it's pretty good!

message 200: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Can everyone take a moment to make sure that the books that they've read since the 14th have been put on the mini when you get a chance? Be creative; every book can fit in some way ;)
