@Felicity I moved American Dirt to the Reverse card left, and we can use Kaylee's book for a 5.

Mini tasks are in, very similar for what we did in March. So please check if you can fit any of your books, and if you have next reads candidates log them in the spreadsheet.

We made a pretty big dent on the Skips, those are not that hard to come by but we had so many, we're ok now. We can start to fill in order to get hands completed. Let's shift our focus on the mini. Cards will start to fall into place on the Official Board.

Don't forget about the color cards though.

I just realized the book I finished today works for a Blue 4 so I put it into that slot. I had not committed to read this book when the month started so that's why I didn't list it.

@Lynne - sorry I took your blue 4 spot but we have at least 2 Draw 4's so we could use another Blue 4 for one. I thought it would save someone having to read a book just to get that color.

We are in pretty good shape, only 4 color cards left:

1Red - Elena - Beloved
8Yellow - Lynne - The Councilor
5Blue - Lynne - A Lady's Formula for Love
9Yellow - Veronica - Looking for a Miracle

Plus three WD4, so any duplicates for color cards are welcome.

If your book is a 5 or 7, and want to log it yourself in the copy of the Official sheet, jump right to it on the corresponding hand. Otherwise fill in order.

As intimidating the mini might have looked at first, we have almost fill all A tasks (with plans at least). There's one section, A2, that seems a little bit more difficult, luckily we still have pixie cards to use and they might be helpful there. We'll wait and see further down the road where they can be most useful.

We could mentalize ourselves on getting the completion bonus for the A tasks, but honestly I think it's still a great idea to fill as many tasks as possible, since all of them are worth 10 points. If we can finish A, great! if not let's just try to finish all our planned books and get all those extra B points.

Just in case you are still looking for something to contribute to the mini A tasks, still vacant are:

- Almost all of section A2 (6 tasks).
- 25*: read a book with 201-250 pages.
- 31a*: read a book that you can connect to your own team's movie (be as creative as you wish).

Brittany, Juhi, Poongothai,  Apoorva and Jodi, please check if you have something for one of those.

Question So I read Triplets for the Millionaire would it count for the connect to teams movie? In the book the characters go to the Stanley hotel that serves as the inspiration for Stephen kings The Shining. Our movie stand by me is based on Stephen kings work The Body. What do you guys think? They are both based on Stephen kings works.

Hii everyone sorry for being absent. My mentor was recently denied tenure and its just been extremely stressful figuring out how im going to finish everything. Cest la vie :))

I am definitely going to finish the two books im working on now, and potentially a third? Hows everyone else looking?

I’m just slowly fighting my way through this current book. I’m hoping the other four I have to do by the end of the month for the mini go easier on me! But I definitely need to finish this one because it’s a for a color card. I should be ok though.

Hi.

I removed my log of the book of 450 or more (Firefly Lane), I found books for the spandex and headband tasks, for the length of Firefly lane I can read (actually audio) these two shorter ones. I don't think I can do all three. Maybe we can find a Pixie book for the 450 task.

For the 5Blue we had in the log a Lynne book, but it seems it didn't qualify so I'm reading a short one for that, probably finishing tomorrow. After Lynne finishes the yellow left, we'll be done with the color cards. We already completed all WD4.

I keep getting sludged by a self-help book, maybe I should speed read that one and move on. I don't know why I keep trying with this genre. And even though I imposed a heavy load on myself this month, most are on the short side, so I think I'll be able to finish all on time.

I haven't been able to read as much as I want, things still hectic, going back to full lockdown, but as always im on call. I will get through the 3 books I posted on the mini and April spreadsheet, but I don't know if I'll manage to do more.

I only have 1 book left to read, for the teacher character in the mini-challenge. I'll finish it before the end of the month.

I'm a bit busy with work (will probably have to work in my free time) so I don't think I'll be able to read more than that 1 book, but we'll see.

I am embarrassed to say that with everyone else's stressful lives, I have become obsessed with vacation planning for our daughter's last trip before she heads off to college and then a first trip for my husband and me without her in the fall. I'm not sure how many more books I can read this month but I'll try to have a better idea by this weekend.

I'm sorry for all of you that are having tough times. I hope today is a good one, so you can have some peace and recharge.

But well, as the very realist person that I am, I'm not sure we can finish our April hands (that's a motivational speech, amIright?). We need to read 26 books total (32 minus 6 from Pixie). It seems doable in the 9 days left, between 9 of us will be 3 per person, but since other things have priority in our lives we should settle for what we can. I think the only one missing logs is Jodi, and a couple from Brittany. If you can update as soon as possible we could have a clearer picture and maybe a more positive forecast.

I'm up for 7 more books. I do have time and energy for it but I wont be self-flagellating about it either. I'm having a good reading streak this month, I hope that doesn't change next week. It would be a new record for me.

Please keep us informed on how you are doing, books and all else. Sharing sometimes can help a little while, AKA just vent.

I finally finished the book that was taking me ages to get through. I am going to try to do a little extra now and do my best to read 6 by the end of the month. 🤞🏼

Great Lynne! I finished the 5 Blue too, so that's a wrap for the color cards :D.

To be fair all team members have been active. So maybe we can say two per person and we'll be ok. But with Lynne and I reading a little bit more it can be possible even if most are not as available.

With Lynne and I doing maybe 6 each that's 12. Elena and Alejandra maybe 3 each, that's 18. Kaylee mentioned finishing at least two and Vivi 1, that's 21. Brittany mentioned having 2 pending to log, that's 23. Three more and we make it.

I certainly can finish 3 and probably more. Right now I am reading a book that will fill the 4 and the 6 in hand 9, which will also fill the Draw 2 in that hand. I should have this book finished by tomorrow, if not tonite.

I am finishing Incubus Dreams today, it's super long (722 pages) and boring, I hope the other books on my list will be better. I am planning on reading another book at the weekend

I finished and put it in the spreadsheet for the 4, 6 and Draw 2 on the official sheet. Then I used it for the mini challenge for Character going to a club or dancing because one of the characters was a stripper who pole danced (dancing in a club, right?)

So I am trying to finish this challenge strong. So far I finished 2 books today. The first was and was easy to slot in places. But the second I just finished is not as easy. I thought it was over 350 pages but when I came to the end of the book, it had the beginning chapter of another book. I didn't think I could use it for that many pages if it wasn't all the same book. Then I wondered, the main character takes harp lessons from a private instructor. Would that count for the mini category "character who goes to school or takes part in any kind of course"?

Yes, I think it could be use for the course task. Any other of the books you have pending could fit the 350 pages one? If not, we can still use a Pixie card for it.

If anyone else has a 350-400 pages currently reading (that is on a B section) speak up :D.

I was wondering if Jodi dropped out of our group? I see she is reading books all the time and never enters them in our spreadsheets. Would it be helpful if she just links her books here and someone can add them where they need to be in the spreadsheet?

I have about 15 books to add to spreadsheet. My notifications and spreadsheet access have been all wacky. I apologize for not being more active. I’ve learned there IS such a thing as too many games/challenges to keep track of. I think I took on more than I could handle, especially with my current family situation. My bad, lesson learned.

Brittany, please check if the books you're about to log can fill any of the mini task mentioned as pending. If not, there are some B tasks left where we they could be used. Regarding the cards, most are easy ones, we'll probably find where to put them. If you have time to pick something else, you can look for a 5.

Lynne, please give priority to the books on your A tasks. Maybe some of the books pending to log could be used for the B's.
