Verónica | 417 comments Wow. With the books already on the April color sheet we cover all of them.

I kind of figure out a way for all books to be read, each for one color card. I marked the X with the color. Four color cards are marked twice (two books) to cover the WD4's. Let me know what you think. If everything looks fine to you, we're ready to go.

message 452: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments I did. I really liked it and we used it for a green card in February. I am planning on reading Caste in April so we may double up on that one, too.

Great! We'll cover two Reverse cards :D.

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Goodness Veronica- don't feel you have to read all the books yourself! LOL. Looks like you picked 12 of the 18 books to read.

Hahaha, maybe the color ones. I have an Excel with my catalog and this month I added a column with cover color, so I find them very easily. If down the road someone reads something for that card before I get to them that's good. It's nice to know we have options.

message 456: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Actually, will you take the 3Red? You didn't put it in the log so I assumed you decided not to.

message 457: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments I will try to do Moonflower Murders once again (maybe third month is the charm.)

message 458: by Elena (new)

Elena Akgül | 73 comments @Felicity sure, I still want to read it. I need it for my personal challenge.

@Veronica the color sheet looks great!

Verónica | 417 comments We are three books away from completion of the mini:

Lynne Lost in a Good Book
Vivi The Air He Breathes
Lynne Evans Above

Let me know if one might not be finished, I'll see if I can find something short in audio for one those tasks.

message 460: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 94 comments Mine will be finished! Almost done with one, and I’m halfway through the other. (One is physical and one is on kindle, so they are both started since I read them in different situations.)

message 461: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 137 comments I'm more than halfway through mine... I have around 100 pages left.

Will finish it by tomorrow.

message 462: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Speed running the blue book tonight! :)))

message 463: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Everyone still on track to finish for the mini?? I just finished the blue book so thats taken care of!

message 464: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 137 comments Hi, I'm gonna be finishing my book today... I saw the counter, 10 hours left to April 1st.... I'll finish before it.

message 465: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 137 comments Finished! ☺️ Will update the spreadsheet.

message 466: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 94 comments Finished my last one. Just in time!

message 467: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments woohoo! I updated the official Spreadsheet, we got completion bonus, Good job everyone!

@Kaylee The blue book is not on your UNO shelf, but I linked the one from your Read books. We'll wait for the double check/clearance from our captain :D.

message 468: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Woop woop! Awesome job everyone!!!

message 469: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Whoo Hoo! It's our last a month and I wanted to go out with a bang. I've been banking up my books and leaving a chapter to read today to finish up. So this morning I finished 2 green cards and a book that has been lurking on my log for the last 2 months. (And this is NOT an April Fool's joke!) Happy Reading!

message 470: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments haha thanks Felicity! Thats certainly a great way to start! My spring break is over so I'm going to be slowing down but I have a lot of books to read this term instead of textbooks so Im gonna try and get ahead and use those for our challenge! Thanks for your great work so far, weve got this!

I do want to say that this is my 4th year doing this and I havent ever won; its all a luck of the draw and I think whats more important is that we feel like we did everything we can!!!! :D

message 471: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments @Kaylee Yeah , I realized this is more a luck game. The fun part is to have a target and reach it, working as a team. At least we can say we did our part.

@Felicity You're not talking about the Moonflower Murders one? hehe, is it bad? I'm having a similar situation with Verity, maybe this is its month.
I'm on a peer review waiting period. That means mini-sabbaticals to me, at least for this month. I hope I can ramp up my reading too.

message 472: by Jodi (new)

Jodi | 130 comments I’ll have quite a few books for April. Sorry for being a bad teammate this go around..I wasn’t expecting my family life to be so crazy and it’s really hindered my participation and updating the spreadsheet. Thank you all for being so understanding and patient with me :)

message 473: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Being April 2nd, there's not much to update.

- Five books completed already, cool!
- For the members that didn't log any color cards, you could focus on finding the 5's and Reverse. If someone has more books planned please log them so we can check if we've read them. Or Check the list already logged, maybe there's something you have wanted to read.
- Even if the color card spots are taken log a book if you have one for those cards. We need extra color cards for WD4's.

Hope you have a great weekend.

message 474: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Happy April 5th everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend; a belated happy easter to those of us who observe that. I just finished my first book of the month!

What is everybody drinking today? :) I have a chai latte with almond milk!

Juhi (juhi-malani) | 22 comments Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a book slump. I have a gigantic TBR, but nothing seems to keep my interest. Any suggestions?

Vivi | 137 comments Juhi wrote: "Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a book slump. I have a gigantic TBR, but nothing seems to keep my interest. Any suggestions?"

Just finished All Our Yesterdays. I liked it, it's different, and about time travel.
But it's not necessarily a 'feel good book'... It's a bit of an emotional book.

message 477: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments I see 2 books on the top of your TBR that I really liked and 1 I've heard good things about. I really enjoyed Station 11 and We Could Be Heroes. Station 11 is post apocalyptic and We Could be Heroes is fantasy, with characters that are super hero characters with quirks. I have heard that The Ex Talk is good, too.

Lynne | 94 comments Juhi wrote: "Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a book slump. I have a gigantic TBR, but nothing seems to keep my interest. Any suggestions?"

I highly recommend Red Rising by Pierce Brown. So so good! Hunger Games meets Game of Thrones and set in space. That’s the best way I can think to describe it anyway.

Verónica | 417 comments Juhi wrote: "Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a book slump. I have a gigantic TBR, but nothing seems to keep my interest. Any suggestions?"

From the list of books in common I could recommend What the Wind Knows or Daisy Jones & The Six, maybe something like The Hate U Give can keep you interested.

I don't think so, not enough green.

message 483: by Kaylee (new)

I have the book in my TBR also... I'm so curious about this book, will have to read it soon.

message 487: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments @Kaylee Yeah, that book is really good.

Here comes the nagging patrol... please, log in the spreadsheet all the books you've finished so far. It helps to see how we're doing.

So far we're on track with the color cards. Next on priorities are the Reverse and Skips, so you could look for the K's and P's on your TBR.

message 488: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments I really really liked The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. I started out strong this month but have had a few days of not much reading so I'm hoping to rev back up soon. If Jodi enters the books she has read so far this month, I have read 2 of them so 1 or 2 might work for a reverse.

message 489: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Invisible life is gonna count for a reverse too!!

message 490: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Kaylee wrote: "Invisible life is gonna count for a reverse too!!"

It's not only a good book, is a good UNO book, is also a 5 and a 7 XD. But Reverse definitely is what we need more now.

message 491: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Just pointing out- Lynne finished The Princess and the Goblin, which I have read so that's one reverse. I don't think she has put it in the copy of the official board yet.

Lynne | 94 comments Felicity wrote: "Just pointing out- Lynne finished The Princess and the Goblin, which I have read so that's one reverse. I don't think she has put it in the copy of the official board yet."

Uh oh I didn’t know I was supposed to do that. I thought I was just supposed to put it on the list and say which numbers it works for.

The book I'm currently reading has a Kayla character, so it will help for the skip card 🙂

message 494: by Vivi (last edited Apr 09, 2021 06:54AM) (new)

Vivi | 137 comments Also, Lynne read Cinder, which I have read before... It will fit a reverse card 🙂

message 495: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments @Lynne that's right, Kaylee and I can take care of that. I didn't catch that one yet, did not see it on the April sheet.

message 496: by Verónica (last edited Apr 09, 2021 07:24AM) (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Ok, I updated Lynne last inputs and it seems that with Kaylee's Addie and my book read by Felicity we will cover all our Reverses, nice!

Skip's and 5's are the next pesky target, and of course finish the color ones. But whatever you're reading contributes, the easy ones still abound.

I think this strategy will work wonders once the mini comes in. We can focus on it and cover a lot easier the cards left.

message 497: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Just put in a skip on the master.

message 498: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 529 comments Finished 5 quick reads this weekend should get them uploaded tomorrow.

message 499: by Verónica (new)

Verónica | 417 comments Hey everyone.

The April mini starts in two days. So if you're about to finish a book or just started one, don't rush it ;). All books finished on/after April 15 are good for the mini.

message 500: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 615 comments Hi Veronica- The April Mini has been posted on the official spreadsheet. Looks tricky. a hodgepodge of tasks.
