This is a safe place to ask all those questions that you would otherwise feel extremely stupid asking. It can be a place to reference when someone says something you don't understand.

For example, I literally had no idea what ToG meant when I first joined goodreads. (it stands for Throne of Glass. The book series.) I didn't know that DNF meant either. (it stands for Did Not Finish)

Point is, ask away! Literally whatever you want. (unless it doesn't follow the group rules)

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 922 comments yall what’s the difference between a tbr and a “physical” tbr??

message 5: by Lacey, Bookish Human (new)

Lacey | 1581 comments For me a physical TBR is books that I own and still need to read. Just a regular TBR is books I want to read but don’t own.

message 6: by Lilly S (new)

Lilly S Physical are books that you currently own

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 922 comments oh, I have a great article that talks about it in detail!

message 10: by Lacey, Bookish Human (new)

Lacey | 1581 comments Because she is transphobic, has tried to make her characters diverse when they clearly weren’t, the list goes on. Overall she’s a horrible person.

message 11: by Bumble (new)

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 922 comments part of the article: She has since gone on to release personal essays about [trans people] as well as signing an open letter warning against “cancel culture” and published a thread of tweets about how “we’re on the brink of a medical scandal”, as well as comparing hormone therapy to gay conversion therapy.

and that’s not all.

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 5341 comments Erin 2.0 wrote: "extremely stupid question regarding something i should probably know by now: what's a trope?"

it's like a series of events that happens in a book that's either pretty common or really popular or both
like enemies to lovers is a trope a lot of books incorporate
like the there was only one bed

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

A commonly overused theme or device.

message 18: by erin (new)

erin (erinssss) | 1054 comments ahhh thanks

You should get around to checking out these booktube channels ~ PersuseProject, the clockwork reader, withcindy, Avery Douglas ( a few of her videos have hauls & stuff), perfectpaperbacks, MelReads,
TinyOwnUniverse, Tianna Kelly, hope that helped!

Look at this considerate child. I just clog up everyone's feeds and by the time I think about that it's like whatever it's done now 😂

message 34: by Bumble (new)

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 922 comments I make shelves then clog peoples feed and don’t even care

Sarah Beth :) (sarhbeth) what is a buddy read?? how do they work?

message 39: by Nimrat (new)

Nimrat | 2356 comments Sarah Beth wrote: "what is a buddy read?? how do they work?"

So you request to read a book with someone. One or more people may join you. Then you all start reading the book at the same time. Sometimes you have an assigned number of chapters or pages that you read per day or sometimes you go at your own pace. Whenever you want to discuss something you send it on the thread where your buddy read is going on. So that you can share your thoughts and others can give their opinions.

Idk if that made sense but I hope it helps!!

message 40: by Sarah Beth (new)

Sarah Beth :) (sarhbeth) thank you!! <3

message 41: by Niharika✩ (new)

Niharika✩ (doesitreallymatterpeople) | 16149 comments Buddy reads are when you read a book in a pair or group. So, you can request a buddy read or set it up through pms or something. You decide a start date and start reading (all of you) on that date. You can discuss books either on a thread in the group you want or through pms.

message 42: by Niharika✩ (new)

Niharika✩ (doesitreallymatterpeople) | 16149 comments Sorry if that didn't make sense😅
