Elements of Nature Readathon

Hey all! So, for the month of February, this challenge has been created.
Start Date- 1st February 2021
End Date- 28th February 2021
There will be five teams corresponding to five elements of Nature. Those teams are:-
Team Air
Team Water
Team Fire
Team Earth
Team Space
Rules and Guidelines:-
1.Each participant will be put in a team. It would be done by the Mods based on the number of participants.
2.Each team would have some Book Prompts.
3.Each team member must read at least one book for each prompt. More than one book can be read.
4. As a team, there will be other Team tasks to complete.
5. It's not mandatory to read one book for each team task. One or more tasks can be chosen.
6. For Book prompt 1, synonyms/adjectives are allowed. The present, past and past participle forms of the words are also allowed.
7. Rereads are allowed.
8. Each book read should have minimum 150 pages.

1. Read a book having the word(s) in title air/breathe/pure/fresh/cool/wind/independent/free/freedom/breeze/creative
2. Read a book having more than one MC.
3. Read a book having a cover with white background/ title in white.

Team Tasks:-
Air element corresponds to the following as:-
Emotion- Peace
Taste- Neutral
Part of Body- Mind/Brain
Read books as a team having:-
1. The words mentioned above, in titles.
2. MC with above mentioned character traits.
3. Subject/Genre pertaining the above mentioned words.
As a team, you can also read a book defined by these word(s).

2. Team Water
Individual Book Prompts

1. Read a book having the word(s) in title water/clean/drink/sip/flow/dilute/calm/damp/fear/clever/cynical
2. Read a book having a MC with superpower.
3. Read a book having a cover with blue background/title in blue.

Team Tasks:-
Water element corresponds to the following as:-
Emotion- Calm
Taste- Salty
Part of Body- Bladder/Bone
Read books as a team having:-
1. The words mentioned above, in titles.
2. MC with above mentioned character traits.
3. Subject/Genre pertaining the above mentioned words.
As a team, you can also read a book defined by these word(s).

3. Team Fire
Individual Book Prompts

1. Read a book having the word(s) in title fire/hot/glow/burn/flame/passion/courage/energy/charisma/desire/anger
2. Read a book having MC with red hair/red complexion
3. Read a book having cover with yellow background/title in yellow.

Team Tasks:-
Fire element corresponds to the following as:-
Emotion- Joy
Taste- Bitter
Part of Body- Heart
Read books as a team having:-
1. The words mentioned above, in titles.
2. MC with above mentioned character traits.
3. Subject/Genre pertaining the above mentioned words.
As a team, you can also read a book defined by these word(s).

4. Team Earth
Individual Book Prompts

1. Read a book with word(s) in title Earth/ground/green/land/world/planet/dry/loyal/serene/care/worry
2. Read a book having MC with a green eyes/green hair
3. Read a book having a cover with brown background/title in brown.

Team Tasks:-
Earth element corresponds to the following as:-
Emotion- Stability
Taste- Sweet
Part of Body- Stomach/Flesh
Read books as a team having:-
1. The words mentioned above, in titles.
2. MC with above mentioned character traits.
3. Subject/Genre pertaining the above mentioned words.
As a team, you can also read a book defined by these word(s).

5. Team Space
Individual Book Prompts

1. Read a book having word(s) in the title space/universe/stars/moon/sun/blank/scope/matter/time/huge/lonely
2. Read a book in which MC time travels.
3. Read a book having a cover with black background/title in black.

Team Tasks:-
Space element corresponds to the following as:-
Emotion- Patience
Taste- Neutral
Part of Body- Skin
Read books as a team having:-
1. The words mentioned above, in titles.
2. MC with above mentioned character traits.
3. Subject/Genre pertaining the above mentioned words.
It's not mandatory to complete each task, the team can choose any of these.
As a team, you can also read a book defined by these word(s).

Scoring and Winning Criteria:-
So, each team will have some members depending upon the number of participants. There will be two kinds of winner of this challenge.

A) WINNING TEAM: SCORING CRITERIA
1.The number of books you read under the category Team Tasks will be equivalent to points. For example, if a team reads 10 books under Team Tasks, it will score 10 points to the team.
2. Each member of the team, on completing one individual Book Prompt scores 5 points to the whole team. So if a member completes all 3 prompts, he/she contributes 15 points to the team scores.
3. If a member reads more than one book in a prompt, an additional 5 points amount to the team for each book read. This is only valid when the said member has completed all the 3 book prompts.

The team with the maximum number of points wins.

B) TEAM MEMBER: WINNING CRITERIA
One member from each team will be the winner, so at the end of challenge we will have 5 winners, one from each team.
1. The member completing a book prompt scores 10 points.
2. If a member completes all 3 prompts, he/she scores additional 20 points, that means a total of 50 points (30 total for each prompt+ 20)
3. If a member reads more than one book under a prompt, he/she scores 5 points for each book read. This is only valid when the said member has completed all the 3 book prompts.

Member scoring highest number of points wins.

How to earn additional points?
1.Each book read above 450 pages earns you and the team 10 points extra coupled with the points stated under scoring criteria.
2. Each review added, earns you and the team extra 5 points coupled with the points stated under scoring criteria.

Yeah sure...okay so for example if we talk about Team Air then we have:-
Emotion- Peace
Taste- Neutral
Part of Body- Mind/Brain
Basically, you can read a book whose subject is peace which means that it talks about peace or the idea of book is based on it, and in case of mind/brain you can read a book whose subject focuses on mind, development of mind etc. It can also be SciFi when it comes to genre.
Neutral implies fiction.

I hope you get it now but since I think this is a legible doubt I'll be sure to put up a post including what type of books could come under each team.
As for author's name, thanks for mentioning that. Initially I had written a specific set of words for which this task was given but later on it was replaced, and mistakenly this 4th task was copied. I apologise! I'll edit it and maybe add another task. Thanks again for bringing these in notice.

Also I would like to add that team tasks have been kept open ended, basically the theme of the book must fit the characters of each element, that's all is required. Also take note: Book defined by these words, implies the same notion that books you choose to read must have the theme in common with the elements.

No, it's entirely up to you how many books you would like to read and it's not too late, sign up ends on 5th Feb. Again, it's not necessary for you to review book, if you review it you earn yourself and the team extra 5 points.
