In Kerala, mainly we imitate the west. And I'm feeling pretty shitty admitting this, but people WILL stare at you if you wear something that shows too much skin aka shorts above knees and cropped tees but then, you could wear those if you're bold enough. If you're visiting during the time of a specific festival, traditional clothes like sarees are a great way of showing your appreciation but then again no pressure. I hope things aren't too confusing
