(This does contain a brief explanation of why I love this chapter so if you haven't read GOF yet and don't wish to be spoiled with any details please don't continue reading! ~ Thank you)
This chapter definitely excited me and I couldn't help proclaiming out loud, "YES. Finally Harry using something to his advantage to get what he wants!" And by that I'm referring to when Harry asked Uncle Vernon if he could go to the Quidditch World Cup because the Weasley's invited him along, and as expected, he said no. Harry then mentioned writing to Sirius and Vernon immediately got scared and changed his mind (AS HE SHOULD BECAUSE HE'S TORTURED THIS BOY LONG ENOUGH ALREADY AND HARRY DESERVES TO GO??). Yes Harry used Sirius as a fear tactic but STILL, Harry literally never gets a thing from the Dursley's. They all despise the boy, so why have him stay there any longer when they could easily send him away?? He'll be with people who actually enjoy and love him?? People who want his presence and make him feel accepted?? Why continue to have him stay..?
And that's the absolutely messed up part about it. Vernon knows Harry has friends and people who love him in the wizarding world. I can only come to bet if it ever came down to it, Harry would be able to move in with the Weasley's or someone else in the wizarding world. It's like Vernon only keeps Harry around to mentally (and some might argue physically) torture him because he wants him to be THAT miserable. Vernon is a despicable man so when Harry basically insinuates sticking Sirius to him, it made me entirely too proud.
Harry Potter standing up to his familial bully at last.
