I think the timing is perfect. In the first book of this series, he was worried about the fact that his mother wouldn't accept someone new in their lives, and that he wouldn't know how to be a father to Morgan's daughters. It seems both of those problems have been put aside. Why not move forward with their relationship?
Great points, Robin. I think it’s perfect timing, too. Morgan and Lance have taken the time to get to know each other, work through issues and deepen their relationship.
Plus, he needs somewhere to live now😏

The timing seemed right to me, the little girls were accustomed to him staying over, and his house was gone. On top of that, they loved each other and Lance was in love with those three girls!
