Morgan is offered a job in New Jersey. Do you think Bryce orchestrated that offer to get rid of her or was it because of her reputation? Your thoughts about her reasons for turning it down?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments The first thing that popped into my head was Bryce calling the DA in New Jersey and telling him he had the perfect person to fill their position.

I don't blame her for turning down the position. She is starting to get comfortable with her new job. She would have to uproot her kids, leave her grandfather and Gianna, and leave Lance. I guess Lance could move with her, but I don't think he would leave his mother to fend for herself.

I’m certain Bryce recommended her. She’s making him look bad when it’s actually not hard to do.

A job isn’t everything and putting her family, ties to the community and Lance first was the right way to think about the decision. She loves being in Scarlet Falls and so do her girls. It’s also wonderful that her grandfather lives with them.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I never expected Morgan to so much as interview for that job; she had too much family to leave behind for that job.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Yes, it was all Bryce's doing. Morgan has shown him and his office up too many times and it is harming his political career.

I never thought she would take the job for all the reasons mentioned in the book at the end.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I agree. Bryce was behind the offer. I see why Morgan considered it. I even understand why she went on the interview. I knew she wouldn't take it though.

I think you’re right that she needed to go to the interview. Her decision then becomes one that was thoroughly thought out and no regrets.
