When Morgan and Lance interviewed Haley’s friend Piper who went with her to the nightclub, she acknowledged that she left early and was upset with Haley. What opinions did you form about their friendship/relationship? Should she have followed the girl code and stayed with her or was she swayed by Haley being with Noah?

[Robin]

Piper said that Haley blew her off to be with Noah, so she left her there and went home. I figured that was true, especially after Haley confirmed that she did leave Piper by herself to be with Noah. Piper should have warned her that she was leaving.

[Jonetta]

I could understand Piper being annoyed that Haley was spending all of her time with Noah. But when she started criticizing her for snubbing the ex-boyfriend, I sensed a little jealousy. And, if you come together, you leave together or don’t until you’re certain your friend is okay. Even Piper thought Haley was behaving strangely...she was because she’d been drugged!

Piper violated the girl code and did it pretty easily. I’d never have left my friend without telling her. And, I would have made certain she was okay.

Agreed, especially since Piper knew Haley couldn't handle an overload of alcohol, she should have been checking how Haley was before she cut out on her. She's the one who convinced Haley to go out in the first place, so the girl code should have been in effect until Piper knew Haley was OK leaving with Noah.

I was somewhat suspicious of Piper because of her jealousy, but I didn't think she'd committed murder.

Piper isn't much of a friend is she could leave Haley in a fit of jealousy.

I did not suspect her for the same reason I didn't suspect Hayley, she is physically too small to have killed Noah, and she also didn't have a motive.

I was suspicious, too, but couldn’t really square her with the crime. She wasn’t a friend, IMO.

I agree. Piper let her jealousy take over and she left her friend in a dangerous situation. I don't think Piper recognized that her friend was in trouble, she was too focused inward. Why did my friend ask me to come out then ignore me? Why is my friend getting the attention when it is my birthday?

I could sympathize with her being put out as this happened to me once upon a time. But I still made certain my friend was safe. She actually left with someone else!!! Our friendship never recovered so this incident kind of triggered that moment for me.
