I honestly think that both ships are really cute, but I've loved Fitz for so long that I can't comprehend the thought of giving up on him ever, he could murder Sophie and I would still love him. Now, he would NEVER do that, but it was the only example I could come up with. I LOVE Keefe, but I feel like he would work better with someone else. I think he is more of a brother figure to Sophie, it shows through their relationship and by how the interact. I think they were always meant to be friends, even if Keefe believes differently.
Again, this is MY opinion, I'm NOT trying to bash ANYONE, and I completely understand if you disagree and I know why you think that Sokeefe should be together. If I offended ANYONE, I am deeply sorry, but I felt that it was time to show my entire opinion.

Sorry, I just thought it would be nessasary, I'm fine if people don't like Fitz, but you have to have VERY GOOD reasons for hating on him. Look around you, NONE of the Fitzphie lovers bash on Keefe so PLEASE don't bash Fitz unless you have proof to what you are accusing him of, PLEASE. Sorry if I have hurt anyone's feelings with mine and a few other brilliant minded people's opinion!!!

Also, I just wanted to point out that Fitz isn't a "rich boy", he can't be, all elves get funded with the SAME amount of money.

yeah except that was one of the very few moments I actually didn't hate Fitz because it was a tiny bit meaning full gift despite his whole thing with it I mean he could've thrown it off himself but he knew Sophie had a pretty bad experience with Alvar (kidnapping) but it was still 99% selfish (btw does anyone think we should either start a new thread for this or move this to a different discussion so the movie cast people can continue their stuff?)

Ok, I think it was a beautiful gift for Sophie, because it shows how much Fitz cares for her. Like he WANTED to do it, but he sacrificed his wants to let Sophie do it. I thought it was really sweet.

well, I feel like kotlc does a great job of having different races, like Prentice, Wylie, Maruca, Livvy, Teirgan, and Emery are black, with the whole Song family being Asian. all of which are pretty major characters

Plus having only a few of these people in a world that's supposed to be 'mostly perfect.' is setting a bad example. we know and love these people, give them REPRESENTATION! show everyone that the world wouldn't be perfect without them.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons why I loved Rick's books, because he had so much diversity. Not just different races, but lgbtq+ representation

everyone really be out here forgetting that fitz vacker is a character that has undergone very severe emotional and physical trauma.
i see people (here, but also especially in the instagram fandom) talk about his massive amount of privilege and the fact that there is nothing for him to be angry about. the fact that he is spoiled and he’s a brat. and you know what? fine, i see where that comes from. but hear me when i say this.
any privilege that he has should not invalidate his emotions or his trauma because he is “lucky compared to everyone else.”
fitz vacker was raised under the tremendous pressure to be perfect, by his family, by his society. shannon doesn’t even go into how this effects him negatively, painting him as this person who is happy to be in the spotlight, sometimes even borderline arrogant.
i call bull on this. it does a complete disservice to his character. it makes me so freaking mad. that pressure alone would make anyone crack, anyone have the issues that fitz has.
let’s dig deeper. let me point out to you that other than sophie, fitz has the best knowledge of humans. despite the fact that his family is practically royalty, he should be in the greatest position to understand and empathize with humanity (besides sophie). we don’t get to see any of this either.
fitz has been searching for sophie since he was young. imagine how scared he must have been at the beginning. imagine the things that might have happened. the fact that he just has to find this girl adds to the pressure. he was disappearing all the time. people must have talked. he must have been very lonely. it must have been so hard for him to make friends. people are always watching him.
being one of the most powerful elves must not have helped the situation.
his emotional growth must have been stunted.
he finds sophie. his world is turned upside down. he loses his father. he is scared. he is in fintan’s mind, seeing the darkness and coldness of a shattered mind. he is in the fire and he has to jump from a tower many stories off the ground. he has to run away to join the black swan because of his instinct to protect. he gets run through by a poisonous bug trying to save those around him. he gets his leg and heart freaking destroyed by a woman and her shadows. his brother is a freaking murderer and he blames himself. he has to find him, he has to fix this. it’s the only way to redeem himself. he is pushed away by the girl he trusts more than anyone. that trust is not returned. his reputation is being threatened, the one thing that’s been drilled into his mind that should be valued above all else, because he can’t screw up, he just can’t screw up. he has to be strong for everyone else, because they all have issues worse than he does, right?
he is scared. it comes out as anger.
he is depressed. he has severe trauma he’s trying to deal with. he has privilege, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t allowed to be a person with flaws.
no one, even sophie, has ever let him be a real person. he is always “golden boy,” “wonderboy,” the boy who is perfect.
he is a lucky statue, to be looked at and examined and picked apart. no one understands. no one could possibly.
all they see is a person who is angry for no reason, or a perfect boy with perfect eyes and a perfect smile. someone to be jealous of, someone they can whisper about.
he isn’t a person, not really. right?
he is tired, he is broken, and who is he? who is he, other than the person, the mask, that he presents to the rest of his world?" -Lemon said this earlier.
This is off topic, but I wanted to share my opinion on the whole (much too short in my opinion) Fitzphie relationship: honestly, everyone views Fitz as the bad guy in their relationship, and sure, he handled some matters less than perfectly, but you can’t expect perfection from anyone, even Fitz. Honestly though, Sophie wasn’t the greatest girlfriend either. Step back and look at it from Fitz’s POV: Sophie hid from him for like a week after they finally got together, and when he finally got to see her, she was hanging out with another guy. Then, she ignores him some more, promises to hail him, never does, then ignores his hails 3 times and runs off to another boy’s house with presents. On top of all that, she is keeping a big secret about her biological parents, and that definitely does effect the both of them if they want to be forever. Should he have handled the whole unmatchable thing a little more respectfully? Well, yes, but once again you have to see where Fitz is coming from. He comes from a long line of some of the most well-renounced elves in history, and not ONE of his relatives has ever been a bad match. Bad matches face a ton of scorn, and after everything about his reputation that he’s already compromised to be around Sophie and her friends, there’s only so much more he can take. And it isn’t just about him— it’s about his family name. He wasn’t making a selfish decision asking her to keep looking for her parents, because if he married a bad match, the entire Vacker family name would be looked down upon. The only person who would truly be happy in that situation is Sophie and her biological parents. For everyone else it’s either a neutral or negative effect. Is that worth causing Sophie and her biological parents stress? Not necessarily, but that’s up to each person and how they want to look at the issue. Anyways, back to everything else: Sophie was ignoring him a ton when they were dating, and sure, she had her own reasons for that, but still, that hurt Fitz who was trying his hardest just to be a good boyfriend and enjoy some time with his girlfriend. He even brought her gifts and heartfelt apologies with nothing in return. He didn’t even expect anything in return. All he really wanted was to spend a little time with Sophie, and the only time he ever really got with her was if they accidentally ran into each other, if she was about to almost-die, or if Fitz showed up at her house. But, all things considered, Sophie had a TON of stuff going on, and not much time for boys. For that reason, their relationship was strained and cut short and not given its best shot. I feel like if they had a lot less of the other stuff going on, and another shot, the relationship could work out really well. But with all the stuff they were dealing with, it was headed to disaster from the beginning. I hope we get to see them learn their lessons and try again, because I think all things considered they could be really good for each other.

Well said! I completely agree. People tend to forget that Sophie was also in the wrong here. Fitz was clearly trying his best and his reasoning and effort all makes sense but Sophie's not the best at dealing with this sort of stuff which ruins the relationship since only one side is trying their best. Of course it's not completely Sophie's fault. Again, she's bad at this sort of stuff and we can't blame her because she's going through a lot. The truce they reached at the end of Legacy is understandable; they can't exactly make it work under these circumstances.
On a different note: wouldn't it be interesting if Sophitz got back together once they destroyed the whole matchmaking thing hence both sides learn something? Fitz gets over the matchmaking; Sophie gets more confident (which we could see a lot of in Unlocked) because low self-confidence on Sophie's side is one of the reasons Sophitz was failing. Once those two factors are gone, Sophitz would ultimately work.
And a note on Sokeefe; many others claim that Sophie prevents Keefe from being reckless but honestly? She actually increases that recklessness factor. And another claim: Fitz is insensitive and makes Sophie feel uncomfortable. Yeah, like Keefe doesn't. The whole "Foster it" thing in Legacy made me feel odd on Keefe's part. "And when you projectile vomit all over the Councillors today, you'll be Fostering it hardcore-" Not cool, Keefe. Fostering it, aka. nearly dying. I get that Keefe's coping mechanism is humor (as we've been told many, many times) but it could be stressful sometimes. Both Sophie and Keefe got emotional issues and I doubt combining them would do good.
Sokeefe at this point is more likely to happen but Sophitz still is possible. I don't care what happens as long as both guys and Sophie are happy.
Fitz is a very good topic to have, especially when your passionate towards his character. So, since everyone else is ranting, I guess I will too. :) I'm gonna write this like a compare and contrast essay-of sorts, so bear with me. :)
Fitz Avery Vacker, the golden boy. Fitz has never been like the rest of his family. Yes, they all have their own faults, but Fitz always tries to be more than he is, that is one of the key qualities that I see in him. Even though he is considered the "Wonder Boy", he still chooses to help Sophie, he risks his entire reputation for her because he thought she was worth following. Take a moment to think about that, he did EVERYTHING for her.
Now, I know that the Keefe shippers are going to start talking about all of his anger issues, I get it. One of my siblings used to get really angry about simple things, but one thing about Fitz is: He DOESN'T get mad without REASON. A few examples of that is: when his father's mind was shattered, I mean, Fitz thought his Dad was "dead" of sorts. He has EVERY RIGHT to be mad, now was it right to take all that anger out of Sophie? No, no it wasn't. But was it LOGICAL to blame her? Yes, think about it, if your sister was with a good friend, and then the friend comes home saying your sister was dead would you, A) Invite the person in for some dessert. B), figure out the facts. Or C), Shut the door on the person's face. Let's be honest, literally everyone here would do option C, that is was Fitz decided. He didn't know the facts, but he knew who was there, and he knew that his father's mind was SHATTERED. Cut him some slack, PLEASE.
Another example is when his brother was allowed to live normally, but with people keeping an eye on him. Think, Alvar tried to kill Sophie, he was in on her entire kidnapping. Fitz didn't just want to kill his brother because he was bad or because Fitz was tricked for half his life by his BROTHER. It would hurt ANYONE'S pride. But the MAIN reason Fitz hated his brother was BECAUSE of what he did to Sophie, that only ENHANCES my theory from above, everything Fitz did was for Sophie. He only felt violently towards his brother because of the amount of hurt Alvar had brought to everyone that Fitz LOVES.
Not to mention the thought that Fitz BAKES. Like *sigh*, Fitz is so adorable!!!
Now, onto Keefe. Now, don't think I am trying to BASH Keefe whatsoever, I just want to show Keefe shippers WHY I ship Fitzphie. Anyway, one reason why I don't think that they should be together is because of the amount of insecurities that Keefe has, now, I LOVE Keefe, but confidence isn't one of his strong suits. Sophie is pretty insecure about herself too, so if you put them together, they won't grow, but if you put Fitzphie together, Fitz and build Sophie's confidence in herself that he has been trying to get her to gain. Also, opposites attract, just saying.
Another reason that I don't think that SoKeefe should be a thing is because of the amount of hardships that both of them would bring on the relationship. I feel like with all of the family issues and the saving the world worries would put a damper---
