Rec for something Relic Hunter-esque

I'm looking for a recommendation for a book or series with a similar main duo to the TV show Relic Hunter. The main protagonist is a kick ass female who does most of the fighting with a timid Beta male side kick. Preferably fantasy, but I'll take Sci fi too. Oh, and romance subplots would be nice (not necessarily between the two main leads).

There's the Rogue Angel series by Alex Archer, 1st book is Destiny.

It's a bit pulp fiction-ish, there's like 50+ books and they are short. I've only read the first 2 and not much romance that I recall, but they are fast and fun, kind of Tomb Raider style.
