nature is amazing! I think it may be the fault of the translator; this book didn't sweep me up in awe. it was pretty dull to read, unfortunately
Yeah if I was reading this, I doubt I would’ve made it very far. But I still zoned out a few times while listening to it.
I bet! I had really high hopes for this book! I love learning about fungi and the hidden world in the soil!!
Hey everyone, thanks for letting me join the group! I just read "The Hidden Life of Trees" a few months ago, and really enjoyed it. I am in awe of how trees can communicate underground through very tiny vibrations. And how we will never be able to fully understand the complex system of languages that nature has developed in order to adapt to our ever-changing world. Now I have an understanding as to why I tend to feel an overwhelming sadness when I'm in a city park and see only 1 or 2 trees that are clearly implanted and have no support to survive in that setting. Being a non-fiction book I can see it being hard to read, especially if you don't normally read non-fiction however, I think the insights and knowledge in the book make it worth it. :D
