Just shows you shouldn't always judge a book by its cover.. or judge someone on what they show to the world. She has developed a hard shell as a defense mechanism probably not unlike Kim has done. Revealing her past and her efforts to move past it make you understand and yes perhaps be more sympathetic to her character. Again, there are definite parallels to how we see Kim as well.
Tracy and Kim are a lot alike in that they come from a different world and have shaped themselves. Even though Tracy is a bit hard to feel sorry for, I did feel sympathy for her after seeing how she made herself into a new person. I wonder if we'll see her again in the series. Maybe she'll actually help Kim with information in a future book.
Lisa, excellent points! We thought we knew who she was and we weren’t even close. Gave me pause.
Robin, another great point. Kim and Tracy have more in common than their differences. I, too, want to see more of Tracy, to see how she evolves from this point.

I was thinking maybe Tracy will become like Nadine Furst is to Eve Dallas. Kind of friends. Actually there are similarities between Eve and Kim when you think about it. Kim needs a Rourke, LOL.
That’s a long row to hoe, Lisa😏 Eve and Nadine have a relationship built on mutual respect and trust that developed rather quickly. Tracy has lots of self exploration to do first.
I can see lots of similarities between Kim and Eve. Eve’s Roarke, however, is polar opposite of her, which has a lot to do with why they work. So far, Kim keeps bonding with men who are a lot like her, which is why I believe her Roarke hasn’t presented himself yet.

Yes, it may have been a bit out there, I think way too much about this stuff.
Great points all. I like the idea of Kim finding her own Roarke, but there is only one Roarke and he belongs to Eve. :-)Tracy has walls that keep others at a distance. I enjoyed learning about her past. As a reader, it makes her character easier to take.
Tracy has a hard shell that makes her good at her job, but not so great at relationships. I'm not sure that Kim and Tracy will ever be friends, but I can see them helping one another in the future.
