When the second victim, Isobel/Mandy, is found at Westerley but still alive, what theories, if any did you start to formulate?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) There was a link between the two victims somehow although at that stage I don't think the reader could have worked out what it was. And how it was connected to the childhood flash back scenes.

I was a bit confused about the Isobel/Mandy connection as I was reading. I get that the killer was using Isobel's amnesia to stay close to her and the case but when Kim and her team were putting it together there wasn't a Mandy mentioned in the incident, was there?

In the end, Duncan acknowledged that there were over twenty people he planned to get retribution from. He went after the main perpetrators first, those whose faces were of those who held him down or didn’t help him and could have (Louise, Jemima, Tracy). Mandy was probably one of those in the crowd who stood and looked.

Oh thanks, Jonetta. That would make sense. Added to the mystery I guess.

It was an important statement I almost missed!

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments From the flashbacks, we knew that this was a revenge by the killer against a group who had wronged him/her in childhood. Since Isobel had no memory of who she was, I figured it was going to be hard for Kim's group to know where to go next. Isobel couldn't tell them that she once knew Jemima.

I really didn't have a theory at this point except we were looking for someone who had been hurt as a child and wanted revenge.

I knew they were related but didn’t know how. I also started thinking the killer might be a woman. And, the event occurred when they were very young. It also got me thinking about why now and not years earlier.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I thought a serial killer when Isobel showed up. I knew there would be a desire to get more if the killer wasn't stopped. The similarities between Isobel/Mandy and Jemima were too ritualistic to be over.

I thought it was a woman too. I liked when the team tried to make Kim admit she was wrong. It made me laugh a little. When she didn't give up that it was a man I changed my position.
